Skincare

Darphin's "Haute Couture" Skincare at Fashion Week

For the second year in a row, Parisian skincare line Darphin set up a special Aromatic skin care bar backstage at the Zac Posen show.

For the second year in a row, Parisian skincare line Darphin set up a special Aromatic skin care bar backstage at the Zac Posen show. Models and celebs were invited to take a whiff of Darphin's Aromatic Care oils, while skin-care experts were on site to provide quick consultations about the right blend of products.

The idea is that Darphin's customized regimens are the skin-care equivalent of haute couture, and the products could be your one luxury splurge, much like a piece of Zac Posen clothing. (Posen is also said to be a big fan.) Because Darphin knows that everyone has individual beauty needs, the company offers five different oils, all of which are said to improve elasticity, renew radiance, and moisturize the skin. New York Fashion Week

NY Fashion Week: Zac Posen

When it comes to big events, celebrities are crazy about the big styles of Zac Posen.

When it comes to big events, celebrities are crazy about the big styles of Zac Posen. The young designer counts Kate Bosworth, Mary-Kate, and other young actresses among his fans, and plenty of stars turned out to see his Thursday show at New York Fashion Week.

The Spring 2007 collection was a walking museum of evening wear, with models wearing everything from a 30s-inspired gold party dress to an emerald-green number reminiscent of early Hollywood glamour to a ruby-red gown with a bow so big it resembled a pair of wings. There were also minidresses with feather- and flower-strewn hems and minimal pieces in creamy vanilla tones. Some of the more radical looks didn't quite do it for me (see above mention of the giant red bow), but I give the guy points for variety. To see all of Fabsugar's Fashion Week coverage, click here. Vera Wang

NY Fashion Week: Vera Wang

As one of America's preeminent wedding-dress designers, Vera Wang is accustomed to happy occasions, but the unveiling of her Spring 2007 collection at New York Fashion Week on Thursday was anything but joyful: The designer's father had passed away earlier that very morning.

As one of America's preeminent wedding-dress designers, Vera Wang is accustomed to happy occasions, but the unveiling of her Spring 2007 collection at New York Fashion Week on Thursday was anything but joyful: The designer's father had passed away earlier that very morning. Wang wasted no time in dedicating the show to him, with notes in every seat that said "In Loving Memory of C.C. Wang."

The fashions were fittingly somber but also triumphant, with billowy black dresses, muted golds, and subtle tiers of ruffles. This was hands down the best use of volume I've seen thus far; despite the bubbly, drapey sleeves, the clothes looked like even a petite person could wear them without being overwhelmed. The only thing I wasn't crazy about were the jodhpur-like satiny pants. To see all of Fabsugar's Fashion Week coverage, click here. To view the rest of Vera Wang's runway show, read more

Come Fab Finding With Me: An Edgy Office Look

Check out this look from the highly wearable Spring 2007 collection from Rag & Bone.

Check out this look from the highly wearable Spring 2007 collection from Rag & Bone. I love the pairing of wide-legged trousers with a close-fitting blazer, as well as the color combination of slate gray, olive green, and light blue. If you want to be a little bit daring in your office attire, this ensemble would look just as great behind a desk as it would on the runway.

Earlier this week, I found a similar pair of trousers, the Calvin Klein Veyron Pants, available here for $282. But now I need the blazer, the blouse, the skinny white belt, and what ever else you might want to add. So let's all go Fab Finding to complete the outfit. Badgley Mischka

NY Fashion Week: Badgley Mischka

Designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka are gurus of glamour, having spent the last 18 years creating breathtaking beaded gowns under their label, Badgley Mischka.

Designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka are gurus of glamour, having spent the last 18 years creating breathtaking beaded gowns under their label, Badgley Mischka. A favorite of Hollywood starlets, the label is known for its almost over-the-top detail and sophisticated glitz. But with its Spring 2007 collection, unveiled yesterday at New York Fashion Week, Badgley Mischka took a surprisingly minimalist turn, working mainly in black and white with only the occasional gown of goldenrod.

Badgley Mischka recently decided to go in a more mature direction with its advertising, dropping the Olsen twins in favor of Sharon Stone as the new face of the line, and that maturity was reflection in the collection. The designers traded their usual mazes of beading for old-fashioned ruffled collars and simple criss-cross details. Most notably, Badgley Mischka—known for its flowing forms—seems to be favoring the sheath dress and boxy empire-waist look that is so prevalent right now, and I'm just not sure how I feel about that. Rachel Roy Francesca Reversible Jacket: Love It or Hate It?

Now that I've finished Fabsugar's weeklong look at fall coat trends, I'd like to share with you the most outrageous coat I found while scouring the trendy styles: the Rachel Roy Francesca Long Reversible Jacket.

Now that I've finished Fabsugar's weeklong look at fall coat trends, I'd like to share with you the most outrageous coat I found while scouring the trendy styles: the Rachel Roy Francesca Long Reversible Jacket. I really like a lot of Roy's designs, and I have to give this coat credit for its ingenuity. Rather than reverse to another color, it reverses to an entirely different style of coat. And you can't accuse Roy of missing the new trend toward oversize proportions. But really, isn't this thing a bit ridiculous? Do you love it or hate it? If you like it, you can buy it here for $1,095.
