Be a Friend, Send a Break-Up Card
I've told you before about the snarky yet delightful cards from Bald Guy Greetings. But with all the celebrity breakups lately (farewell Whitney and Bobby! goodbye Kate and Chris!), I'd be remiss not to mention the company's hilarious post-breakup cards, available for $3 each here. It's always tough to know exactly what to say to a friend who has just dumped someone or been dumped, but Bald Guy does a pretty great job. In fact, I'm planning to send this one to a girlfriend of mine a.s.a.p.

Help Clothes Keep Their Shape
I'm very intrigued by this new detergent called Cheer True Fit, which claims to help your clothes keep their shape. Having had to say goodbye to a fair share of overstretched jeans and misshapen t-shirts, I definitely see a high demand for this product. According to the Cheer web site, the detergent works using a friction-reducing lubricant, so that the fibers of your clothes glide against each other during washing. (As an added bonus, the new brand is also holding a sweepstakes to win a New York shopping spree.)
I plan to try this stuff just as soon as I finish my current jug of detergent, but if anyone has tried it, tell me what you think.
Would You Drink Cocaine If Everyone Was Doing It?
A new Red Bull has emerged, and it is called Cocaine. The company claims to be against drugs and yet asks if customers can "handle the rush?" We were wondering who their spokesperson would be and figured Lindsay Lohan would be the most appropriate fit. She's too young to drink, yet she always seems high, so maybe this "legal cocaine" will help LL more than whatever she is on now. Apparently the drink made its debut last week at Fashion Week—makes sense—and supposedly tastes like a cherry Jolly Rancher. Here's more:

The drink's maker maintains that "doing Cocaine"—the beverage, that is—gives you a bigger and better high without the crash that other energy drinks cause.
They say a high hits you within five minutes, followed by a caffeine boost 15 minutes later. But hold on—the ride lasts five hours and the concoction is "350 percent stronger than Red Bull," they claim.
They argue that the effect is part chemical—this drink uses "simple" sugars that don't need to be broken down by the body to create a sugar buzz, and a much larger dose of vitamin B12—and part psychological.

Highly Versatile Teal Handbags
Let's face it: Handbags are expensive, but an expensive handbag can really make an outfit. The key—if you're a bag-snob on a budget—is splurging on one high-end bag that you can wear everyday. The problem with basic brown and black bags is that they won't always go with what you're wearing: It's hard to pull off brown shoes with a black bag and vice versa. Why not try a dark teal bag? Not only is it more compatible with brown and black shoes, but it also provides an inoffensive splash of color. Here are my picks for great teal bags at both designer and non-designer prices.

NY Fashion Week Wrap-Up: 4 Big Colors for Spring
When it came to color palettes, New York Fashion Week was all about extremes, with blacks, whites, and neutrals on one end and shockingly bright blue and coral shades on the other. I particularly liked some of the more creative parings, like pale yellow and gray and chartreuse with royal blue. Here's a look at the colors you'll be wearing this spring. (To see our round-up of the 5 hot trends for Spring 2007, click here.)

Laura Mercier's Out Of This World Eye Powders

I have always been a huge fan of Laura Mercier Cosmetics, but her new Mineral Eye Powders for fall are out of this world. The line of six loose-powder shades actually have outer-space-inspired names, including eclipse, milky way, meteor, galaxy, constellation, and asteroid.
These richly pigmented colors can be applied both wet and dry to look dramatic or soft. When applied wet, they have a dramatic sheen finish, while the dry application makes your eyes unbelievably sparkly. You can also use them as eyeliner; just dampen your brush with water, dip into a darker shade, and mix to desired consistency depending on how daring you want to be. You can buy them here for $20 each.
Jewelry Designer Spotlight: Legge & Braine
Legge & Braine may sound like a rather twisted name for a jewelry label, but the London-based designer is simply named after its founders, Charlotte Legge and Kate Braine. Their jewelry, however, avoids an anatomical focus in favor of bold, rich pieces influenced by nature, drawing inspiration from animal eyes, sea creatures, and insects. Though the jewelry isn't sold in the U.S., you can buy it directly from the designers using PayPal, and the company offers free delivery worldwide. Here's a look at some of my favorite Legge & Braine styles.
Medusa Ring, made from Murano glass and gold plate, about $658.

Butterfly Ring, made from mother of pearl, white gold, and coral, about $2,727.
