Bikini waxing is one of those things that many women endure but very few discuss. Whether you're contemplating your first one or just dreading your next one, you may wonder if there's a way to minimize the discomfort. Though bikini waxes aren't exactly pleasant—the pain falls somewhere between pulling off a Band-Aid and getting a tattoo—there are some things you can do to make the experience more pleasant. Here are some helpful hints to keep in mind.
1. Prep your skin. In the days leading up to your wax, scrub the to-be-waxed area with a product like Dove Exfoliating Body Wash, available for $8.29 here. This will help open up your folicles and prevent ingrown hairs.
2. Scout out the right salon. Yes, there are super-cheap waxes to be had at neighborhood nail joints, but pricier spa-type establishments often use better waxes. Check to see what kind your waxer is using; moisturizing cream waxes will hurt far less than traditional versions.

Every girl knows that soothing baths are the bomb, and no brand understands this better than Lush. I first fell head over heels for Lush on a trip through London's Covent Garden almost ten years ago. As anyone who has visited one of their retail stores (located in more than 27 countries) can attest, Lush's counters of fresh, handmade cosmetics bear more resemblance to farmer's markets than makeup stores. At the heart of Lush's beauty philosophy are organic fruits and vegetables, essential oils, and non-animal tested products. Here are some of my favorite Lush products.
Lush's number-one best-seller is the hot-pink Sex Bomb. Scented with jasmine, ylang ylang, and sage oil, this bath bomb is guaranteed to give you a "balanced viewpoint and a clear mind" before your crazy night on the town. Buy one for $4.95 here.

A fashionista can never have too many accessories, so why not apply that same philosophy to your home? Just as an eye-catching necklace or handbag can transform an outfit, one unique throw pillow can completely liven up an otherwise basic couch, bed, or armchair. And don't be afraid to mix and match unexpected graphics and patterns. Here are some of my favorite playful throw pillows.
Urban Outfitters Flocked Wallpaper Piped Pillow, $20, available here.
Crate & Barrel Adora Pillow, $26.95, available here.
State Hand-Embroidered Pillow, $136, available in 50 state designs here.
