FABTV: Fendi on the Great Wall of China

Fabulous. Can you imagine having attended last week's Fendi runway show on the Great Wall of China? I really can't imagine how awe-inspiring it must have been, so we'll have to go by what Kate Bosworth and Thandie Newton thought. China's Great Wall was lit up on Friday with its first ever big-name fashion show.

In this video you see an amazing panoramic view from the Wall and an oh-so-chic posse of fashionistas led by Julia Restoin-Roitfeld. Then, the show, which was constructed on a raised platform on a restored part of the Wall. With Euro-Trance music in the background, we witness a colorful mix of furs and silks complete with awesome belts and the re-introduction of Fendi's signature "Baguettes." In the end, bows by Silvia Fendi and the mastermind Karl Lagerfeld. Again, fabulous.

10 Ways to Know You're SO LA

Petro Zillia's Spring 2008 line sheet explaining all the runway looks also included a fun little bit about life in LA; the list was deemed "10 Ways you Know You're SO LA." It kept me entertained before the show began and made me realize that I'm so not LA (out of 30 possibilities, I only semi-identified with a few). We thought it would be fun to share so you can figure out if you're SO LA.

You know you're SO LA...

  • If you check on wireimage what you wore out last night
  • If you think the paparazzi are after you
  • If you have an agent, manager, publicist, personal assistant and a stylist
  • If your dog can fit in your purse
  • If you have a Blackberry, an iphone and a cell phone

Fab Ad: Roberto Cavalli at H&M

Roberto Cavalli is synonymous with nightlife: bold animal prints, party-ready dresses and gowns, and of course, lots of glamour. When it was announced that he is doing a holiday collection for H&M, I hoped to see all three. I'm happy to say it looks like I won't be disappointed; if these ads for the collection are any clue, there will be more than enough glitz and glamour to go around — at affordable prices, too!

I'm dizzied by stripes and spots, and what a Fab gold flapper dress! The ads, shot by Terry Richardson, really embody a fun, carefree life, and they make me want to hoof it down to H&M on November 8. What about you?

Designer Spotlight: Nili Lotan

Ralph Lauren and Nautica alumna Nili Lotan thinks of the past when designing for the future.

Ralph Lauren and Nautica alumna Nili Lotan thinks of the past when designing for the future. Memories of her childhood during the turbulent late 60s and early 70s provoked the Israeli-born designer to weave printed silk keffiyehs, Palestinian embroidery, and silkscreened war protesters into her Spring 2008 collection.

In addition to those striking symbols, Lotan rounds her collection out with lots of silk charmeuse, plunging necklines, and bohemian prints to give off the feel of the sixties-meets-seventies inspiration.

Pieces from Nili Lotan's Fall collection are available at Shopbop and run from $283-$912.
