Designer Spotlight: Acne Jeans

Before discovering Acne Jeans, the only thing I associated acne to was a face.

Before discovering Acne Jeans, the only thing I associated acne to was a face. It's a cheeky name for a jean and women's/men's clothing company because it's attention grabbing. The brand was founded in 1997 when 100 pairs of jeans were designed and distributed to friends, family and clients. That's a generous gift!

Before they knew it, stores wanted to carry the denim with bright red stitching. The first official collection was launched in 1998 and creative director Jonny Johansson has worked to make the brand the success it is today. Besides jeans, the company also offers a women's collection, men's collection and accessories.

Retail prices for women's denim run from $200 and up; the women's collection is equally pricey.

Baby

Simply Fab: Maternity Band for Layering

Expecting a baby is exciting and all (well, except for the random bouts of morning sickness), but what do you do when all your tanks turn into crop tops?

Expecting a baby is exciting and all (well, except for the random bouts of morning sickness), but what do you do when all your tanks turn into crop tops?

Now there's a solution, which may help you save a bit of money. Ingrid & Isabel's Maternity BellaBand, $26, is a stretchy tube that fits around your growing belly and acts as a layering tool. With that, you can actually make use of your old pre-maternity tanks. It comes in black, chocolate, sand and white, so buy the ones that correspond best with your wardrobe. Celebrity Style

Celebrity Style: Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington always looks beautiful, but I really like how she mixed it up last night at the 2007 VH1 Hip Hop Honors.

Kerry Washington always looks beautiful, but I really like how she mixed it up last night at the 2007 VH1 Hip Hop Honors. She set off her blue and white dress with bright punches of patent color. Yellow and orange are shaping up to be two of the hot colors for Spring, so she's ahead of the fashion curve there!

The Look For Less: Gucci Indy Bag

I'll admit that when I first laid eyes on Gucci's Indy Bag, $2,990, it wasn't lust at first sight.

I'll admit that when I first laid eyes on Gucci's Indy Bag, $2,990, it wasn't lust at first sight. But it came to life for me when I saw it on Jennifer Lopez. Granted the rest of her outfit is a tad overbearing, but that metallic bag with tassels really stands out and grabs your attention. On the right person, it can be a fashion jackpot.

Weight Loss

Come Fab Finding With Me: Losing Weight & Dressing Great

Another fun reader request, coming your way!

Another fun reader request, coming your way! This lovely 22-year-old lady lost 20 pounds over the past three months (good for you!), and she's planning on losing another 20 pounds by the year's end. In the meanwhile, she's "swimming" in her clothes, and needs to get some new ones, especially for work!

She's from Miami and her office dress code is business casual — any type of shoe goes. At night she moonlights as a student, so she's looking for some pieces that are both stylish and professional.

I know you ladies can take care of that, so I'll start you off with this Deux Lux Perforated Foldover Bag, $68, because it's big enough to tote her things between office and school, but it's got a youthful sheen to it. Come back and tell me when your Fab Finds are up and tag them with transition phase.

Oh! Now, you can build outfits by creating a list of clothing items. We have everything you need to build outfits with and you can use your Fab Find bookmarks too. This is an even better way to put together an entire outfit when you are completing your Fab Finding missions.

Chanel

Paris Fashion Week, Spring 2008: Chanel

It’s safe to say we are all Chanel fans here.

It’s safe to say we are all Chanel fans here. While Karl always has a field day with his Chanel ready to wear collections, he still manages to marry the heritage of the house with the modern day. For Spring we once again witness his magic.

In a third sleek, third sweet, third sportif presentation, there is something for everyone. There was an underlying celestial theme — with a star motif and silver metallic accessories — but not too crazy sci-fi, very wearable. All the favorites will be available: tweed jackets, party dresses, daring short shorts and denim, but this time around they have been given a twist with chain detailing, modern tailoring, sheer fabrics and strategically placed bows and belts. I favor the daytime separates this time around, as opposed to the evening looks — they have more punch. That’s just Fab, what do you all think?!
