Fab Finding Follow Up: Losing Weight and Dressing Great

Last week, I shared another fun reader request: this lovely 22-year-old lady lost 20 pounds over the past three months, and she's planning on losing another 20 pounds by the year's end.

Last week, I shared another fun reader request: this lovely 22-year-old lady lost 20 pounds over the past three months, and she's planning on losing another 20 pounds by the year's end. In the meanwhile, she's "swimming" in her clothes, and needs to get some new ones, especially for work!

She's from Miami and her office dress code is business casual — any type of shoe goes. At night she moonlights as a student, so she's looking for some pieces that are both stylish and professional.

I started you off with this Deux Lux Perforated Foldover Bag, $68, because it's big enough to tote her things between office and school, but it's got a youthful sheen to it. To see all the transition phase Fab Finds, go here.

Let's see what you all came up with!

Oh! Now, you can build outfits by creating a list of clothing items. We have everything you need to build outfits with and you can use your Fab Find bookmarks too. This is an even better way to put together an entire outfit when you are completing your Fab Finding missions.

Look #1, created by syako is weight-loss perfect! As she explained, a dress is great for the interim period, because it's not too fitted, so it will still fit when you lose more weight. The tie belt on the coat is ideal for showing off your new figure!

Wish Upon a Paris Star

Paris really ended the fashion weeks of Spring with a bang.

Paris really ended the fashion weeks of Spring with a bang. A big bang. A big bang where all I could see was stars. Not of the Pop sort, of the celestial sort. A sucker for a flashy motif once in a while, we saw Chanel's take on black and white stars — gorgeous — and bold metallic stars entranced on Pilati's Yves Saint Laurent runway. While Pilati's collection received lukewarm reviews, I loved the star motif used on shoes, belts and jewelry. Call me a teeny bopper, I was starstruck after these two Paris presentations. Did they razzle dazzle you too?

Designer Spotlight: Todd Oldham Todd Oldham got his start stitching dresses together from pillowcases at age 15, and progressed to designing elaborate gowns for Hollywood stars like Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon. He was, for 15-some-odd years, a fixture in fashion, even hosting a segment called "Todd Time" on MTV's House of Style in the '90s, which focused on America's growing fascination with fashion and the lives of supermodels.

Celebrity Style: Halle Berry

Move over Nicole Richie, there's a new hot pregnant mama in town.

Move over Nicole Richie, there's a new hot pregnant mama in town. Here at the "Late Show With David Letterman," Halle Berry looks more gorgeous than ever in her Galliano bubble lace dress, slingback sandals and hoop earrings. This isn't her first pregnant look, but I think it's her best so far. Everything about it is soft and feminine — just the way Fab likes it. I'm looking forward to seeing more pretty pregnant ensembles from Halle!

Fab Flash: A Trend Toward Seasonless Dressing

Unpredictable weather patterns are wreaking havoc on traditional Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter fashion seasons, and fashion designers are having to adapt "to the reality that there is no strong difference between Summer and Winter any more," Beppe Modenese, founder of Milan Fashion Week, told The New York Times.

Fashion giants like Liz Claiborne Inc, Target, and Kohl's have all hired climatologists to help them plan for their next collections, and Target is even promising to sell swimwear year-round starting in January.

But the bottom line, as Harriet Quick, fashion features director of Vogue UK says, is that "we'll start to see a move toward what you could call trans-seasonal or all-year-clothing." If this happens, it means that you will be able to get more wear out of what you buy — and I'm not going to argue with that!

The Look For Less: Tory Burch Simone Cardigan

Sometimes you need something as simple as a cardigan to polish off a look.

Sometimes you need something as simple as a cardigan to polish off a look. This Tory Burch Simone Cardigan, $225, is streamlined and unique because of the gold logo buttons. Though any old cardigan won't do, paying over $100 for one seems wrong, especially when it's ideal to have a few for fashion emergencies.

Paris Fashion Week Spring 2008, Kenzo: Love It or Hate It?

If the house of Kenzo knows one thing it's color.

If the house of Kenzo knows one thing it's color. Ok, two things, prints too. While nearly everyone has attempted their hand at color and prints for Spring, this sequin dress was pure delight when my eyes met it. I think my pupils even enlarged a bit, from the excitement of the rainbow colors filing together in a sequin patchwork pattern. For some it may be too much, but for me it's pure pleasure. Where do you stand?
