Red Carpet Controversy in 2007

For better or for worse, 2007 was quite the year for controversial red carpet looks.

For better or for worse, 2007 was quite the year for controversial red carpet looks. Heidi Montag in her nightie-inspired dress; Posh in zebra print and hot pink; Hayden in a poofy peach confection; Ellen Pompeo and her Sci-Fi neckline; and Paris' slinky leopard dress all made the top five eyebrow raising looks. Let's revisit them shall we? For old times sake . . .

Love It or Hate It

Mark Walsh and Leslie Chin Flaming Heart Brooch: Love It or Hate It?

For Rodarte's Spring '08 show, designers Mark Walsh and Leslie Chin accessorized the models with their breathtaking jewels. This Flaming Heart Brooch ($1,250) was one of them. Though it's pretty to see on the runway, I don't think I'd wear this in real life. It's too high-drama! What's your take?

There's all this talk of gift giving, and though it's so much fun, we can't forget that so many people in the world aren't fortunate enough to receive presents during the holidays.

There's all this talk of gift giving, and though it's so much fun, we can't forget that so many people in the world aren't fortunate enough to receive presents during the holidays. Changing The Present is a nonprofit website that offers gifts that make a difference. Choose from a cause or search for your favorite nonprofit to make a donation.

Train a midwife for $25, Educate with style for $40, or Prevent HIV for $62. For that person who has everything, make them a personalized greeting card announcing each gift you donated in his or her name. Changing the world is no easy feat but this is a good place to start.

Is ldq32 looking more angel or devil in her figure-flattering LBD?

Is ldq32 looking more angel or devil in her figure-flattering LBD? The dress is made by celeb favorite Black Halo, which manages to be both a bit of angel and a bit of devil. If it looks this good, I'm all for it.

Here's what she has on:

  • Dress: Black Halo
  • Shoes: Jessica

Congrats to ldq32!

On Our Radar: myShape Little Black Dress Guide

Can you tell we're a little LBD obsessed around here?

Can you tell we're a little LBD obsessed around here? Well, our obsession continues with myShape's Little Black Dress Guide, which provides styles from designers selected to suit every woman’s shape and style preferences. What's more, myShape claims the LBD no longer needs to be black (gasp!) Jewel-tone and metallic frocks can also be called the new LBDs.

If you're an E Shape, you should go with this Carilyn Vaile's Strappy Empire Dress ($178), which also comes in cobalt and berry. It draws more attention to the bust and less on the lower body.

Not sure what body shape you are? Figure it out and start shopping for that perfect LBD, black or otherwise.
