Look of the Day

Look of The Day: Elevator Style

I love that you're all getting creative with the Look Book!

I love that you're all getting creative with the Look Book! Here is a unique elevator style look that really elongates misstiffie's (already long) figure. Not the biggest fan of button down shirts myself, I like how she makes it more urban by layering over a long tunic and throwing on some cool flat boots.

She is today's Look Book Look of the Day!

Here's what she put together:

  • Neon orange threaded button down top: Diesel
  • Blue Long Tank: C&C California
  • Skinny jeans: Miss Sixty
  • Brown calf-high boots: Coach

Congrats misstiffie's!

Fall 2007

New York Fashion Week, Fall 2007: Jenni Kayne

LA based designer Jenni Kayne showed a youthful, sophisticated collection that lacked punch.

LA based designer Jenni Kayne showed a youthful, sophisticated collection that lacked punch. Also, the palette was the moody black, greys and tans we've been seeing and I kept waiting for some color cameos, to no avail.

There were definitely some interesting mentions however. Dresses, both long and short, were pretty pretty with touches like round gold sequin collars and trickling disc sequins. I can definitely picture Nicole Richie in the one shouldered black fringe mini dress. Cream pieces were strong; coats and a really cute high waisted, only slightly tulip, skirt were standouts. Kayne obviously favors the vest-over-dress look with several short and long versions. The overall silhouette was slim and flattering, and her playing with proportions was impressive.

Celebrity Style: Fergie

Fergie, it looks like hitting New York's Fashion Week is paying off - you look great girl!

Fergie, it looks like hitting New York's Fashion Week is paying off - you look great girl! Fergie hit the Kim Jones fashion show and wasn't afraid to show a little leg. This square neck dress is hugging all the right curves, and I am thrilled to see some dimension here with sheer hose, rather than black opaque tights. You nailed it!

Beauty Byte: Ralph Lauren Can Make You A Rock Star

Ralph Lauren Fragrances has gone interactive!

Ralph Lauren Fragrances has gone interactive! They have just launched a new website called, ralphrocks.com to celebrate the release of their new floral, citrus and woodsy scent for women, also called Ralph Rocks, $59. It is packed in a bright orange bottle that oozes just about as much energy as their new website does.

The new site is definitely geared towards a younger shopper. The tag line of the perfume is "Rebellious, independent, free spirited" - does this sounds like a teenager or what?

Appropriately chosen to be the face of the fragrance is model, Hannah Davis, who embodies the same type of carefree attributes as the scent. You can read more about her along with a brief Q&A and some of her favorite styling tips here by clicking on "meet Hannah."

You can also hear and download Scottish singer/songwriter Paolo Nutini's music from his debut album, These Streets. The most noteworthy section of the site is the ongoing online contest called Do You Rock?. Here you can share your home-made music videos for a chance to win an audition with Atlantic Records. The contest will run through April 1st.

Trend Alert: Solid Gold Shoes

Solid gold shoes are a flashy alternative to classic black and all the silver metallics we've been seeing.

Solid gold shoes are a flashy alternative to classic black and all the silver metallics we've been seeing. It's also amazing how gold shoes span time. I have found four fabulous pairs and they all have different appeal: old Hollywood glamour, modern day flats, disco diva and Rio lust. Something for everyone right? Enjoy!

She's got legs, and she knows how to use them: Hollywould Gold Would Sandal, $325.

Proenza Schouler

New York Fashion Week, Fall 2007: Proenza Schouler

Are these really the same designers who just debuted a colorful, flirty collection for Target?

Are these really the same designers who just debuted a colorful, flirty collection for Target? The dynamo duo behind Proenza Schouler have just proven they can do both mass market and special detailing with their modern flapper Fall 2007 collection.

The swingy, vintagey cocktails dresses are sure to be a hit with young Hollywood starlets, and Fab readers perhaps? Shown in jet black beading as well as jewel tone zig zag pleating, these dresses tickled my fancy. And the white ones with black beading took my breath away. As well, wide legged trousers were luxe and jackets and coats were supremely sophisticated. A cocoon silhouette emerged with an emphasis on the shoulder that narrowed down the body. Fur was a power player here, with fur collars and fur-lined hoods. There was even a super fresh fur coat dress with popcorn knit sleeves.

All of this topped with fuzzy, sweet flapper hats and vivid red lips - très chic!

Love It or Hate It

See By Chloe Silk Woven Trim Dress: Love It or Hate It?

In case you haven't noticed, I've become a big fan of See by Chloe.

In case you haven't noticed, I've become a big fan of See by Chloe. This junior version of Chloe is still out of my price range though; I have managed to score a few yummy things on sale. But I saw this See By Chloe Silk Woven Trim Dress, $426, and thought: eh, not so much. This 100% silk dress displays a bright knit belt and trim that plays with the supple cream silk. For that price, this little dress looks like a whole lot of nothingness to me. I'm disappointed. What about you, love it or hate it?
