Marc by Marc Jacobs

The Marc Bag Has Entered The Building!

The heat is officially on!

The heat is officially on! You have been living under a rock for the past couple of weeks if you didn't notice we are giving away an awesome Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring green handbag this month. I'm happy to announce the bag has arrived and is patiently waiting for its rightful owner. Here is a Sugar girl modeling it in the flesh - isn't it a beaut? The buzz around the office is that the bag looks better in person and I concur! I would also like to add it has a pretty green and purple floral lining. Lovely. In case you haven't left a comment, or ten, visit the original post and comment away!

The drawing is this coming Monday at 5:00PM, Pacific Time, so stay tuned!

NET-A-PORTER often has amazing sales and this is one of those times.

NET-A-PORTER often has amazing sales and this is one of those times. I am in lust with this Development Silk Charmeuse Camisole, $164 (originally $205). The teal hue is so fresh! And that off-the-shoulder strap provides such a unique look when placed next to the traditional shoulder strap. I can see a daring fashion maven sporting this sexy top with black opaque tights, a black spandex-tight miniskirt, and some Cuban heels. Tres chic!

Besides clothing, the sale also includes handbags by Marc by Marc Jacobs, shoes by Stella McCartney and accessories by Kenneth Jay Lane.

Tory Burch Silver Audrey Ballet Flat: Love It or Hate It?

The fashion world has officially gone gaga over Tory Burch's Audrey flats.

The fashion world has officially gone gaga over Tory Burch's Audrey flats. But I have a feeling these Tory Burch Silver Lucite Audrey Ballet Flats, $225, may not be so well received. After reading your feedback from my post about plastic handbags I don't know if Tory has another winner on her hands. My experience with plastic shoes = blisters. 'Nuf said.

P.S. These come in gold too.

Celebrity Style: Serena Williams

Serena Williams has proven to be one of the most fashionable jocks.

Serena Williams has proven to be one of the most fashionable jocks. Although she is super buff she doesn't shy away from frilly dresses and bold prints. You have to admire that about her; here's a gal with some (tennis) balls! She recently announced her renewed partnership with Vicks and the launch of a Vicks national sweepstakes at the "Top of the Rock" Rooftop Garden yesterday in New York City. The winner of the Vick's Sweepstakes wins an all expense paid trip to Wimbledon - fun! I love how her dress complements her environment as well as her toned shoulders. Also, I'm a fan of two-tone so I'm digging her metallic gold flat sandals and contrasting silver bangles. Well done tennis queen!

Look of the Day: Cardigan Chic

Qimaki is one helluva stylin' girl in her cardigan chic ensemble.

Qimaki is one helluva stylin' girl in her cardigan chic ensemble. I am crushing on every single piece of this outfit, especially the forest green frock. I love how she paired a gray cardigan to make the look a bit more casual. I am not a wide-belt gal, but Qimaki wears it so well that it makes me want to go out and get one for myself!

Here's her outfit breakdown:

  • Dress and Belt: Tailor-made
  • Cardigan: Express
  • Strappy Sandals: Pedro Garcia
  • Clutch: Lauren Merkin

Congrats to Qimaki!

Ashley Olsen

On Our Radar: See MK & Ashley's 'The Row' Collection!

We finally have a sneak peek at Mary Kate and Ashley's most recent creations for their fashion line, The Row.

We finally have a sneak peek at Mary Kate and Ashley's most recent creations for their fashion line, The Row. Named after Savile Row, a corner in Central London famous for its top-notch tailored suits, their line has been pretty hush hush since its launch last Fall. I actually went to Barneys in Manhattan a couple of months ago to purchase a piece or two, but the only thing left was one simple black tank dress and it was crazily overpriced. Those clothes are selling like hotcakes!

Not surprisingly, The Row's latest collection is mainly filled with blacks and some fur; basically things the two petite twins would sport on a day-to-day basis. No word yet on when this collection will hit and in which stores, but my assumption is Fall and at Barneys.

Trend Alert: Shorts

An alternative to mini dresses, when you want to show some leg but crave a sportier look shorts are a fresh contender.

An alternative to mini dresses, when you want to show some leg but crave a sportier look shorts are a fresh contender. I have always liked shorts; I believe they can be really cute and chic when worn right. Now you all have mixed feelings about shorts so hopefully I can turn you onto them - as long as you promise to wear them by the rules! I think shorts have a bad rap, because so many people wear them wrong. Here are some tips:

  • Show the knees please! Below the knee should be kept to a cute cropped pant.
  • When worn with flip-flops or sneakers it looks too college casual - bring on the femme factor with cork heels or exotic flats.
  • Make sure your legs are buffed and moisturized! You can still pride your paleness but ashy skin is never cute.

Most of Spring's shorts are cuffed and roomy so keep the rest of the silhouette loose. Or flaunt a slim sexy top and volume on the bottom. See, it's fun to play around with shorts!

The Look for Less: Chloe Sevigny in Dusty Pink Prada

We all agreed that Chloe Sevigny looked stunning in her dusty pink strapless Prada dress at Prada America's Cup in Valencia, Spain.

We all agreed that Chloe Sevigny looked stunning in her dusty pink strapless Prada dress at Prada America's Cup in Valencia, Spain. But most of us don't have designer friends to hand us red carpet gowns for zilch. A big thank you to WhiplashGirlchild, who created her own version of Chloe's modern pink look! Now we can all obtain Chloe's unique look for only $100. Although the fabric of the two dresses are different, the color and silhouette are right on. Especially similar is the way that the tube bodice of the dresses are rounded and the contrast of the tight upper part and the volume of the bottom half.

Windsor Coral Sicily Dress, $50.

If you love bargain hunting be sure to join the Frugalosity group, created by Crispet1! It's way fun.

Beauty Mark It! A Shimmer Body Lotion

I’ve been using Nivea Silky Shimmer Body Lotion, $9, for about five years now.

I’ve been using Nivea Silky Shimmer Body Lotion, $9, for about five years now. What’s great about it is it’s the same formula as classic Nivea Body Lotion, only it's enhanced with shimmer that catches the light and gives you a little extra glow when you are going to a party or out at night.

I feel like it’s a bit much to wear everyday, but when I am putting on something new or special, it makes me feel great. I have about two more uses of it and then I’ll be ready for a new bottle. Perfect timing for all of you to go on a Beauty Marking mission to help me find a new, subtle yet sexy body shimmer lotion.

GentleWaves: Your Pre-Wedding Secret Weapon

Shhh. It's our little secret.

Shhh. It's our little secret. Nobody has to know that you've just undergone a GentleWaves treatment. I've just learned about this totally cool skin care procedure that I have to tell all of you brides about! OK, so it's not cheap. It costs anywhere from $75-$100 depending on where you go, but like I said, no one will know you've had anything done. You'll feel no pain; you actually don't feel a thing, your eyes will be closed but you can sense the light.

Once you meet with your MD or esthetician, they will decide if you should get two 35 second or one 60 second treatment. GentleWaves is a LED pulsating light that teaches your cells to reproduce collagen at a faster rate. After anywhere from the recommended six to eight sessions, it will improve the tone and texture of your skin, reduce redness, dark circles, acne scars and will help to tighten your pores. It can be a stand alone treatment or combined with microdermabrasion or a facial to help calm irritation.

This quick pick me up is perfect for the busy bride who has no more than a few minutes to set aside for a soft and clear glistening complexion. To find a physician, treatment center or salon nearest you, fill out this form, hit submit and locations will be sent to you.

GentleWaves has been featured in all of the major fashion and beauty magazines, which you can check out here!
