A multi-faceted woman indeed, over her 70 year career, Marlene Dietrich conquered silent films, cabaret, vaudeville, theater, army camp shows, radio, television, ballet, circus performances and Hollywood classics. Whoa - I didn't even know her scope was that broad. Speaking of, this was a broad like no other. With those thinly arched brows, that sultry Teutonic voice and legendary legs, she was a bit of a revolutionary.

This tribute to her is not only a biography but also a collection of academic essays that touch on such topics as Germany’s complex relationship with Dietrich, her ambiguous sexuality, her place in the lesbian archive, and her star status, but with fresh critical perspective and an emphasis on historical background.

A slew of models were at the Sydney Airport recently, but this time, they weren't there to catch a flight to a fashion show, because the catwalk was already there waiting for them at the Qantas First Lounge. Australian designer Collette Dinnigan showed off her latest Resort collection at the first-class lounge and some gorgeous swimwear, nautical-inspired and ruffle pieces were showcased.

You may be wondering why Collette chose the Sydney airport as her venue. Turns out, the creative director of the airlines, Marc Newsom, is her good friend. This was the first time in two years that Collette showed her collection in her hometown.

Reality TV and fashion lovers, get ready to get glued to the tube, as there's a new show in the works that will chronicle the lives of six fashion assistants given the not-so-glamorous task of putting together the fashion show and after party for Charlotte Ronson during last Fall's New York Fashion Week in September. The one-hour weekly show will air on Soapnet in July.

"The Fashionista Diaries" will follow entry-level employees at Flirt Cosmetics, Seventh House PR and Jane Magazine while they do everything and anything from buying coffee to transporting clothing all around NYC. Ain't fashion fun?

Have you picked up on my little hints of excitement that I'm going on a vacay soon? Well, I am. Where to? Greece! I'm making a couple of Europe pit stops along the way but the most exciting part of the trip will most likely be island hopping along the cobalt waters of the Mediterranean. Needles to say, I'm super psyched!

Now, everything is all booked and ready so I'm starting to think about travel gear, and island gear. It's best to plan ahead right? I love the current trend of metallic sandals - they're just so, so space age. Naturally, I'd love to add these Gucci 'Romy' Ankle Strap Sandals, $550, to my growing shoe collection, but I'm afraid they'll go out of style sooner than I can say "fashion is fabulous." Here is a very fun, youthful outfit; but, this look does not come cheap. Though, I think it is definitely one that can be achieved on the cheap by scouring your local vintage shops! Rihanna does not dress shy - and for that, I like her. She has fun with colors and isn't afraid to show some skin.
