Fab Finding Follow Up: Film Screening & After Part-Tay

With the Tribeca Film Festival underway in NYC right now I thought it would be fun to ask the question: what does one wear to a film screening and then on to the after party?

With the Tribeca Film Festival underway in NYC right now I thought it would be fun to ask the question: what does one wear to a film screening and then on to the after party? A couple factors need to be kept in mind: you don't want to wear wrinkle-prone fabrics, since you'll be sitting for a couple hours, but you want to wear something fun and comfortable so you look fabulous at the after party. I started you off with this cooler-than-thou S.W.O.R.D Volterra Leather Jacket, $656, and asked you all to go Fab Finding for a flirty film screening then after party outfit. Fab Flash: Louis Vuitton Party of LOVE

Last night the stars gathered in New York for Louis Vuitton's LOVE soiree.

Last night the stars gathered in New York for Louis Vuitton's LOVE soiree. The chic get together, celebrating Vuitton's Spring LOVE collection, brought out the likes of Scarlett Johannson, Serena Williams, Michael Stipe, Patrick McDonald, Mya, Amanda Hearst, Kimberly Guilfoyle (Gavin Newsom's ex-wife) and more. Though the purpose of the party was to let loose, look good, and have fun, it also honored Oxfam America, an international relief and development organization dedicated to creating lasting solutions to global poverty, hunger and social injustice. Isn't it nice when celebs kill two birds with one fashionable stone?

Side note: I adore Scarlett's gradiated pink-purple-blue dress but is it me or has she gone a little bottle happy with the blond?

Fab Read

Fab Read: Lanvin

If you've ever wondered who the sartorial genius was behind the famous French label, Lanvin, then I recommend the petite book Lanvin, $13, by French novelist Elizabeth Barille.

If you've ever wondered who the sartorial genius was behind the famous French label, Lanvin, then I recommend the petite book Lanvin, $13, by French novelist Elizabeth Barille. It offers an inside look at the life and work of Jeanne Lanvin (1867-1946), the woman behind the label once known for its mother-and-daughter ensembles and most recently recognized for its jewel-toned frocks.

Although in 2001 Alber Elbaz was appointed Lanvin's artistic director, there's a lot of rich history to be learned about the lady who started the legendary brand in the early 1900s. Not to mention some beautiful photographs and illustrations!

Givenchy T-Strap Pumps: Love It or Hate It?

OC_Fashionista brought these Givenchy T-Strap Pumps, $615, to our attention.

OC_Fashionista brought these Givenchy T-Strap Pumps, $615, to our attention. I like to think of them as a cross between a gladiator sandal and sexy stiletto pumps. I'm not sure how successful this merge is however! Although I do love urban and cool gladiator sandals, I don't think I'd wear these gladiators-on-heels. They are a bit too fancy schmancy and complicated for me. Maybe in black I'd consider them. What do you all think?

By Popular Demand...Drew's Red Dress!

Many of you went gaga over Drew's steamy yet ladylike red dress yesterday - and for good reason.

Many of you went gaga over Drew's steamy yet ladylike red dress yesterday - and for good reason. Every gal should have a LRD in their closet. I have a pinup girly one with a pleated bodice and halter neck and it is cherry red with mini black polka dots. Let me tell you: a sassy red dress makes any man swoon. It is a secret weapon of sorts.

My work was really done for me when Drewsfan found a couple similar look-a-likes already - thanks girl! Drew's dress was Salvatore Ferragamo S/S '07 btw! If you would like to order it visit here for info. The rest of the outfit requires some solid gold shoes and gold hoops and you are Drew-tastic!

Look of the Day: Casual Cool

Sometimes it's difficult to look casual when wearing a black dress, but the lovely Grechen has pulled it off successfully in her casual cool ensemble.

Sometimes it's difficult to look casual when wearing a black dress, but the lovely Grechen has pulled it off successfully in her casual cool ensemble. I am crushing on her olive green hoodie and mustard-colored wedges. I admire that she didn't just throw on a pair of jeans and decided to spice the look up with a sleek LBD!

Here's what she has on:

  • Hoodie: Mike & Chris
  • Tube Dress: James Pearse
  • Wedges: Robert Clergerie

Congrats to Grechen!

Trend Alert: Corset Tops

Marilyn loved 'em, Madonna loved 'em, and I love 'em too.

Marilyn loved 'em, Madonna loved 'em, and I love 'em too. A quintessentially feminine top, the corset top is flirting via fabric. Top one of these off with a pencil skirt or your favorite pair of skinnies and get ready to bat those eyelashes. You can sex one up with a fun pair of cork heels or you can tone one down with a pair of chic flip flops. Bustier girls beware: I would say if you are larger than a C cup these aren't for you. Cleavage is a beautiful thing, but you don't want to send the wrong message!

Which Kirsten Spidey Tour Outfit Is The Most Fab?

The big Summer blockbusters have arrived!

The big Summer blockbusters have arrived! The highly anticipated Spider-Man 3 is not only a wild ride I am personally looking forward to taking, but brought us a mini Kirsten Dunst fashion show leading up to its release - which is today! For the past couple weeks the Spidey cast has been on a whirlwind press tour and our girl Kirsten has been a sight to see. She really showcased her style and versatility from red carpet to red carpet. While she had a few more fantastic looks I couldn't squeeze in here, here were the standouts. My two faves, because I just can't pick one, are the blush flowy long gown and the opposite one below it - the daring metallic frock. Brava Mary Jane, er, Kirsten!

Come Fab Finding With Me: A Fab Business Card Holder

I hope I don't shock you all when I confess I don't have a spiffy business card holder.

I hope I don't shock you all when I confess I don't have a spiffy business card holder. The last one I had was sort of funky (it had multi-colored polka dots on it) and I've outgrown it, to say the least. Not that I want one that is stuffy and boring but I want something nice and professional - but fashionable. So what immediately came to mind was this Louis Vuitton Business Card Holder, $170. But I'm not so sure I want: A) to spend this much moolah on one, and B) a non-colored holder. I mean, this one is brown but I like the idea of a flash of color when handing someone my 'FabSugar Editor' business card. The other thing I don't like about this one is that flap - I feel it would be flapping and therefore spilling all up in my handbag.

Let's all go Fab Finding for the perfect fabulous business card holder for me. And seriously, I will be purchasing one from your finds and the winner wins a Fab tee so do your best! Come back and tell me when your Fab Finds are up and tag them with biz card holder.
