Carolina Herrera

Cruise 2008: Carolina Herrera

Carolina Herrera, like Oscar de la Renta, keeps the country club-going ladies who lunch well-clothed throughout the cruise season.

Carolina Herrera, like Oscar de la Renta, keeps the country club-going ladies who lunch well-clothed throughout the cruise season. She interpreted the name of the season a bit literally - there's a sailor dress, as well as a poolchair-printed fabric used throughout the collection.

But I have to give it to her, she did stick to her staples: the dress, the pencil skirt, the swing coat. I have to say - this is not my favorite collection from Carolina. Some of the detailing seems a little cheap, and the color palette doesn't seem really cohesive - it's a bit all over the place. But if you're a Herrera fan, I'm sure you will be pleased, regardless!

Simply Fab: Wall Stickers

I always love how much a little bit of stenciling can personalize a room, but let's face it - stenciling is a big pain.

I always love how much a little bit of stenciling can personalize a room, but let's face it - stenciling is a big pain. It takes so much time, and if you mess up at all, you have to start all over again. That's why when I saw these wall stickers, $35-$200, I thought they were such a great idea! They're supposed to be simple to apply and easily removable, and they come in all different sizes, colors, and shapes, from branches to flowers to power poles. What a perfect easy way to add pizazz to a room!

Shrek Style: Cameron Diaz

Is it moi or has Cameron Diaz been wearing more dresses than not lately?

Is it moi or has Cameron Diaz been wearing more dresses than not lately? Can you blame the girl? There have been so many Shrek 3 premieres around the world: LA, Sydney, Tokyo, Paris, Berlin and London. My favorite look out of this group is the LWD from the Berlin premiere (bottom, center). I love the pintuck detailing and the thick black belt, but my ultimate favorite is not included here, it's her adorable pink Chanel frock from the very first premiere in LA back in May. What's your favorite Cameron-for-Shrek look?

Stella McCartney

The Bag To Have: Stella McCartney Treated Canvas Grey Shopper

I usually avoid falling for Stella McCartney bags because they are so pricey, and because Stella is a vegan, they are never made of leather.

I usually avoid falling for Stella McCartney bags because they are so pricey, and because Stella is a vegan, they are never made of leather. However, this Stella McCartney Treated Canvas Shopper, On sale for $477 (Originally $795), stopped me in my clicks. I am obsessed with anything grey right now, and take note because it is a key color for Fall.

Not only do I love the shape of this bag, but the treated canvas creates a super cool texture. And those three rings on either side look like piercings so they give it an edge. Is this one worth the price? Perhaps.

Designer Spotlight

Designer Spotlight: Kristen Coates

You may recognize the clothing of designer Kristen Coates from such online sites as Couture Candy and Satine Boutique.

You may recognize the clothing of designer Kristen Coates from such online sites as Couture Candy and Satine Boutique. They are definitely not pieces that mesh into a crowd.

Kristen creates modern and feminine dresses, jumpers, blouses and jackets for the every day woman; the one that likes to dance, work, go to the beach, lounge by the pool, go to fancy dinners and bake cupcakes. Basically, girls like herself! There's so many things that women in this day and age do in their busy lives. Kristen's clothes are aimed to provide comfort and style for the on-the-go gals, which is basically all of us!

The women's designer also has a philanthropic side. Her signature, the Painted Owl, which shows up on some of her pieces, raises awareness for the ongoing effort to support non-profits dedicated to protecting the Earth. Twenty percent of her clothing bearing the Painted Owl are donated to Clean Air - Cool Planet to promote solutions to global warming.

It's so refreshing to see designers doing good with their talent!

Celebrity Style

Celebrity Style: Chloe Sevigny

I know that many of you think Chloe Sevigny's fashion sense is out there, but here, at the Big Love premiere in LA, she looks undeniably pretty and elegant.

I know that many of you think Chloe Sevigny's fashion sense is out there, but here, at the Big Love premiere in LA, she looks undeniably pretty and elegant. The bright orange Prada dress makes her stand out but in the most positive way possible. Only a risk-taker like Chloe is brave enough to try the unlikely combination of orange and salmon pink. And for once in a long time, Chloe actually got her hair done! It really takes the look a notch higher.

Harajuku Lovers Orange County Girl Watch: Love It or Hate It?

I have a couple of really pretty watches, but I've never really been a watch girl.

I have a couple of really pretty watches, but I've never really been a watch girl. What I mean is I don't really use my watches as fashion accessories. I don't dislike this Harajuku Lovers Orange County Girl Canvas Band Watch, on sale for $47, but it may be a tad too childish for my taste. Plus, the numbers are so small I can barely read them. Tell me your thoughts!
