Lacquer. Not just a cool word to say, and spell, but it's patent leather translated onto hard surfaces. If you're a patent junkie like me I'm sure you'll dig the shiny lacquered look of this Foley Tray Top Table, $395. Russian model and Calvin Klein muse Natalia Vodianova is usually a shoe-in for the Calvin Klein advertisements - she's starred in them since 2003. For Fall, however, there are a few changes: Natalia is seven months pregnant, so she's been replaced by up-and-coming Finnish model Suvi Koponen, who was photographed at Milk Studios in New York for the campaign. The ads will appear in magazines in September. I think the pictures are a little bland, but they do stay true to Calvin Klein's minimalist tendencies! What do you think?

Almost as cute as a puffer fish, puffer sleeves are an easy way to embrace this season's romantic trend. Found on both dresses and tops, volume has spread to the sleeve and how adorable it is. I'd watch out for these if you have broad shoulders and maybe go for the longer puffer sleeve styles; and remember to go slim on bottom as to not over-volumize. Puff away!
Once in a while we get a reader request that presents itself as a perfect Fab Finding mission. I had a reader write in saying she is about to start at a trendy upper-class cosmetology school and needs a wardrobe, because they have a pretty strict dress code!
She's on a budget, her bottoms have to be black (but can be anything - pants, skirts, etc.), her shirts can't have any open tummy, back, or show her armpits, and her shoes have to be black - but have no heels, open toes, or thick rubber soles. I know how much you all love to Fab Find so help a girl out and let's go!

I'm sorry to report that designer Gianfranco Ferré, 62, the "architect of fashion," died Sunday night in Milan after being hospitalized for a brain hemorrhage. He was noted for being one of the designers who generated the boom in Italian fashion from the eighties into the nineties. Ferré's architectural silhouettes were favored by the likes of Sharon Stone, Elizabeth Taylor, Oprah, Sophia Loren, and Princess Diana. May he rest in peace.
High-waisted jeans have been around for a while now and I was even brave enough to don a pair! So it's safe to assume that I like these Janiesse Foxy Jeans, $215, that Jessica Alba owns.
