On Our Radar: Made Fair Trade Jewelry

There's a very cool project going on called Made, which allows influential designers to source their designs to East African communities, where local artisans have been taught the skills of jewelry production and make fair wages for the jewelry they create.

There's a very cool project going on called Made, which allows influential designers to source their designs to East African communities, where local artisans have been taught the skills of jewelry production and make fair wages for the jewelry they create.

All the jewelry is available at the Made online shop, and the pieces are very affordable - earrings run $10-$58, necklaces run $10-$278, and bracelets run $16-$90. These Kifundo earrings are really cool and made of glass and bone beads hanging on leather strings. Beautiful in more ways than one, don't you think?

Diane Von Furstenberg

Resort 2008: Diane von Furstenberg

Hey DVF fans! Diane always knows how to please.

Hey DVF fans! Diane always knows how to please. With not a wrap dress in sight, and a collection consisting of cool dresses, skirt and blouse twins, and bathing suits, this Resort collection still manages to delight the senses.

From bold geometric prints to electro-washed retro florals, these designs are fit for both beach babes and city slickers. The long dress threw me off a bit - rather un DVF-like - but the modern day escape-to-Palm-Beach frocks are unabashedly DVF.

Laid back, cool and certainly chic, how I wished I'd had this turquoise bikini and funky cover up while on my recent trip to Greece!

J-Lo glowed at the launch of Lorraine Schwartz's Diamond Monkey collection. Leave it to Jennifer to sport a lush white jumper with pouffy sleeves. We settled for a white shirtdress to achieve her easy, sophisticated look - but it gets the job done! Paired with chunky metallic platforms and stacked bangles, the outfit gets an instant injection of oomph!

Come Fab Finding With Me: Apartment Hunting

Apartment hunting can be a really exciting process or a horrible pain - or both at the same time!

Apartment hunting can be a really exciting process or a horrible pain - or both at the same time! Regardless of how you feel about it, however, there's always something that stays the same: you want to impress the landlords and landladies - landpeople? - that you meet. Because let's face it - they get the final word on whether you get the apartment you covet or not.

While apartment hunting, you want to be comfortable - you're going to be popping in and out of a lot of different apartments in one day! At the same time, you want to be presentable - you don't want the landpeople to take one look at you and think, "Nooo way!"

I'll start you off with this Padlock Heart Charm Bracelet Watch, $175, to be sure you make all your open houses and apartment-viewing appointments on time!

Let's all go Fab Finding for an outfit to wear while apartment hunting! Come back and tell me when your Fab Finds are up and tag them with apartment hunt.

Oh! Now, you can build outfits by creating a list of clothing items. We have everything you need to build outfits with and you can use your Fab Find bookmarks too. This is an even better way to put together an entire outfit when you are completing your Fab Finding missions.

The bad thing about really good housewares is that they are typically super expensive.

The bad thing about really good housewares is that they are typically super expensive. The story goes a little differently at RareDevice.net, however. Brooklyn-based owner Rena Tom stocks her online shop with beautiful and unique wares from more than 30 international and local designers - and they're not ridiculously priced! She carries everything from clothing, jewelry, bags, and belts to delicate tea bowls, tabletop pieces, and paper goods.

I especially love a ceramic vase she carries, $26, that is tall and skinny and has a hole in the middle, making it look like it's giggling at you. RareDevice.net is definitely a place to check out for some novel items!

Fashion Flash

Fab Flash: The Katherine Heigl Collection

In order to further capitalize on her success as "Izzie" on Grey's Anatomy, Katherine Heigl is rolling out a line of health care uniforms in conjunction with Peaches Uniforms.

In order to further capitalize on her success as "Izzie" on Grey's Anatomy, Katherine Heigl is rolling out a line of health care uniforms in conjunction with Peaches Uniforms.

The designs are aimed at bringing "a new level of style and sophistication to medical professionals who value looking good as much as they value their life's work," and four looks are supposed to reflect the personality of Izzie.

The collection will debut in late Fall of this year, and one of the pieces from the anticipated line can be seen here.

It kind of seems like the celebrity designer collaborations keep getting weirder and weirder, what do you all think?
