I say, if you want to raise a fashionista you gotta get 'em young. As we all know, fashion is a pretty cut throat biz and you have to have an extensive skill set to survive. One can teach the art of customization and fine fabrics as early as the newborn stage - contrary to popular belief. Here is a teaching tool: a plush, posh blankie from The Gigi Blanki Co.. Choose from an array of styles - a blanki, burpi, or toothi - and a selection of fabrics and colors; they cost $8-$25. Each one is handmade; one side is soft and fuzzy, the other is silky and comforting. And to prove my point: these have been tested and approved by fashionista-in-the-making katiesugar.

So now you've got your back to school wardrobe of dresses, bags, outerwear, and denim all for very reasonable prices, but let's be honest, where would we be without a good pair of shoes? Me, I would be a goner. Total shoe-fiend right here. In the order of getting dressed in the morning, shoes go on last, and we all know the best is saved for last.

Sadly, my appetite for shoes is bigger than the size of my wallet, but that doesn't mean I am forced to wallow in total misery, it just means I have to be more careful about what I pick and choose (and maybe wait for a sale or two!). But screw waiting: right here, right now, I introduce to you a whole bounty of babely under-$50 shoes, ripe for the picking.

Target has had many wonderful collaborations with fabulous designers, but this one with luxury jeweler Dominique Cohen is by far my favorite! I have never professed myself a bling-bling girl, but these antique-looking jewels have got me in a tizzy. I want to run to Target ASAP to see them in person.

Take this Dominique Cohen Bow Chain Necklace with Bow Pendant, $35, which is pretty and affordable. It has a a bit of femininity with the bow and some masculinity with the black chain. A match made in fashion heaven!

Is Rihanna a chameleon or what? One day she's school-girl chic and the next she's super ladylike sleek. I simply adore her girly Marc by Marc Jacobs top! Though I don't normally condone an all-black look, the creme bow adds a nice touch. I couldn't see the rest of her outfit but knowing Rihanna, she probably wore colorful pumps and carried a fun clutch!
