I can't believe it's been almost ten years since Princess Diana was tragically killed - the time just flew by! The Diana Chronicles, $17, by former New Yorker and Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown, follows the people's princess, all the way from Shy Di to Dynasty Di to Shunned Di.

While Diana was definitely much more than what she wore, fashion was a definitive part of her life. Who could forget that magical meringue wedding dress by Elizabeth and David Emanuel, her hand in popularizing big-shouldered skirt suits, or her appearance at Gianni Versace's funeral just months before her own?

Needless to say, Diana was an icon, whether it be fashion, humanitarian, or just as a woman to look up to, and this book pays quite the tribute.

An interesting adornment has been gracing the likes of jewelry and accessories - most notably here at Chanel's winter wonderland Fall presentation. In lightweight gold and silver, chain fringe is slightly rock n' roll, slightly ethereal and completely cool. For those of us who can't swing the Chanel that started it all, imitators are already in the works. You could always rock the trend via glitterati, for a subtle approach.

Helena Christensen and Kate Bosworth's lunchtime hug is cute but Kate's Chloe Multi-Strap Ballerina Flats are even cuter! Even though she wore them mid-Summer in New York, they are also perfect for any place this Fall. Chloe shoes are currently out of my budget but a cheaper version is here to my rescue...

Thank god for blogs. No, no not just ours...thanks to Heidi Klum's we now know that Project Runway Season Four will premiere Wednesday, November 14th on Bravo TV! I know I'm not the only one anticipating a fresh, blood thirsty crop of fashion designer hopefuls. They better kick some ass this season! However, right before the holidays? Oh well, I guess catching a marathon is the best thing to do on a rainy cold day anyway!

The fuchsia fanfare has been around for a while now so Brittany Snow's Julie Haus mini dress is no breaking news. Still, the actress, here at Vegas Magazine's party, looks au courant and sassy. I especially appreciate the three black buttons. Her choice of shoes is questionable but lucky for her, the frock is loud enough to steal the spotlight.

In response to the NYC Animal Rights' plans to stage a rally outside her Spring 2008 show on September 5, Nicole Miller has announced that she plans to be fur-free starting in the Spring. She says that her current use of fur is "miniscule," about 0.008% of the total items sold under the Nicole Miller label, but after NYC Animal Rights started a smear campaign on their website, with one section dubbed "Nicole Miller Animal Killer," she reconsidered.

Meanwhile, another lady in fashion who is well-known for her anti-fur tendencies, Stella McCartney, is feeling a bit of heat. The designer is finding herself in a sticky situation, as animal welfare campaigners are decrying Adidas, who Stella designs a collection for, for their use of kangaroo leather. Stella herself has made no comment on the matter thus far.

UPDATE: Stella has just issued a statement, vowing that her Adidas by Stella McCartney collection is "100% cruelty-free" and that no leather or fur are used.

It's update time! Last week you all got a teeny glimpse of the Fall collection for SJP's Bitten, and here's a bit more to feed on from Kate Moss's Fall Topshop collection. While the initial pandemonium has subsided, I bet Kate lovers will once again be flocking to Topshop stores and online for the Fall collection, which debuts September 7.

What do we see here? Her signature color - black - but also pink! This striped sweater is adorable and the other pieces appear to be cozy knits, party dresses and edgy garb with sheen. All still pretty Kate Mossy-inspired to me!

So I have a big announcement, which I am very excited about: I'm going to New York Fashion Week!

It's coming up here at the beginning of September, so I'm getting down to the wire on shopping for things to take. Ever the optimist, mic_check_chell has plenty of sunshine to spread around with that bright yellow top of hers.

I love how the accessories she paired with such a simple base (tee and jeans) really make the outfit Fab. The scarf tied at the neck and the big tan hobo bag lend a bohemian feel, but the cap-toed flats keep the look from being too "done." What an easily put together great look!
