Fab Finding Follow Up: Scouring the Flea Market

There are lots of awesome flea markets here in San Francisco, but there's one in particular - the Alameda Flea Market - that only happens once a month and I always make sure to hit it up.

There are lots of awesome flea markets here in San Francisco, but there's one in particular - the Alameda Flea Market - that only happens once a month and I always make sure to hit it up.

I asked you to help me get my outfit in order; I'm thinking super-comfy shoes, because I will be doing a ton of walking to get to all the stalls. Also, I don't want to wear anything too flashy or expensive-looking, because I want to be able to haggle - if the seller thinks I look like I have plenty of money, deals won't be happening.

I started you off with this Free People Poolside Floral Crinkle Headband, $18, to get my comfy and discreet look going! To see all the flea market fab finds go here.

Let's see what you all came up with!

Oh! Now, you can build outfits by creating a list of clothing items. We have everything you need to build outfits with and you can use your Fab Find bookmarks too. This is an even better way to put
together an entire outfit when you are completing your Fab Finding missions.

Look #1, found by rubialala is just perfect for the flea market! It has an eclectic feel to it, between the wooden beads, bright tote, and trapeze dress, which mirrors the crazy mishmash of the flea market. Love it!

Fab Flash: Vena Cava Hooks Up with Anthropologie

Among all the very public designer collaborations going on these days, the girls at Vena Cava thought they were being sneaky!

Among all the very public designer collaborations going on these days, the girls at Vena Cava thought they were being sneaky!

Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai have been quietly working with Anthropologie on a couple of dresses, retailing for $168, that will sell under the label Diodore beginning in September. More projects are said to be in the works.

Out of all the matches that have been put together lately, I have to say, this one is more ideal than most: Vena Cava's trademark prints fit in perfectly with the eclectic Anthropologie look.

Old Navy

Fabworthy: Old Navy Pleated Trapeze Top

Old Navy is on a roll these days!

Old Navy is on a roll these days! First it puts out some fabulously edgy ads and now cool clothes follow suit (check out this Old Navy-inspired Look For Less).

This Old Navy Pleated Trapeze Top, $17, struck my fancy for two reasons: the black swirly dots give it a simultaneously serious yet fun quality, and it's amazingly inexpensive. I also love that there's a fusion of masculinity (the muted colors and dots) and femininity (the pleats and trapeze shape).

For a casual day of running errands, I'd pair it with colored jeans and flats. At night, I'd wear a denim pencil skirt and some fun colored pumps.

Celebrity Style

Celebrity Style: Courteney Cox

Have you noticed that celebs have been taking a simple approach to dressing lately?

Have you noticed that celebs have been taking a simple approach to dressing lately? Courteney Cox is no exception. The actress is dressed in all black, but her Phillip Lim dress is quite cool; I adore the mesh detail and the lantern sleeves. The only things I would have done differently is worn more textured flats, ditched the ankle bracelet (wtf?) and brushed my hair! Other than that, Cox is a fox!

Demi Moore

I Want This Wardrobe: Charlie's Angels 2, Full Throttle

One of the best parts about Charlie's Angels Full Throttle was Demi Moore's comeback - and dang, did she ever come back!

One of the best parts about Charlie's Angels Full Throttle was Demi Moore's comeback - and dang, did she ever come back! She and Cameron looked totally smokin' in their itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikinis, ready to hit the waves. Total beach babes.

These ladies give us some great beach-ready inspiration, but sadly we can't strut around, all strings and triangles, all the time. So make sure you take a peek under the cut for more clothed (but still way sexy) action from all three Angels.

Love It or Hate It

Michael Kors 'Grab' Bag: Love It or Hate It?

This Michael Kors 'Grab' Bag, $1,295, is not nearly as controversial as say the Fendi Sequined Borsa, but I'm still curious to know what you think about it.

This Michael Kors 'Grab' Bag, $1,295, is not nearly as controversial as say the Fendi Sequined Borsa, but I'm still curious to know what you think about it.

The first thing I thought when I saw it is: "How can a Kors purse that's not so elaborate be that expensive?" However, I do give the guy credit for the cool metal chain detail and the practical and non-stiff shape. It's understated yet edgy. What do you think?

Look of the Day

Look of the Day: Catch at the Cafe

fifthofapril is obsessed with her shirt dress, and I am too!

fifthofapril is obsessed with her shirt dress, and I am too! She wore it out to lunch with her friends, and she looks quite the catch at the cafe between that sophisticated dress and her eelskin pumps. But who could miss the bag: it lends a great subtle metallic touch. Top o' the line, my friend, top o' the line.

Here's what she's wearing:

  • Dress: Gap
  • Shoes: Pelle Moda
  • Bracelets: Vita
  • Bag: Botkier

Congrats to fifthofapril!
