Fab Finding Follow Up: A Night at Studio 54

Last week, we had a fun reader request come through: she was invited to a big 70s disco-themed party, and wants to wear something fashionable with a disco twist. She's at loose ends about where to start, but as soon as she said "fashionable" as one of her requirements, I knew we could be all over this like spots on dice!

I started you off with this Urban Outfitters Sequin Beret, $24, because it will catch those disco ball reflections like no other. To see all the Fab finds, go disco fever.

Let's see what you all came up with!

Oh! Now, you can build outfits by creating a list of clothing items. We have everything you need to build outfits with and you can use your Fab Find bookmarks too. This is an even better way to put together an entire outfit when you are completing your Fab Finding missions.

Look #1, created by WhiplashGirlchild is all 70s glamour child! The gold mesh halter screams disco (in a good way), and those Dittos jeans were the denim of choice back in the day.

Versace Quilted Sport Boot: Love It or Hate It?

Riddle me this: how can a designer create beauty one day and ugliness the next?

Riddle me this: how can a designer create beauty one day and ugliness the next? You guessed it, Versace's Quilted Sport Boot, $900, is of the latter category. It looks like a hybrid between a ski and space boot; and that's not a good look here on Earth. What do you think?

Giorgio Armani

Milan Fashion Week, Spring 2008: Giorgio Armani

Sensual, cool tailoring is the Armani way, and for Spring Giorgio delivered just that - with a bit of harlequin romance.

Sensual, cool tailoring is the Armani way, and for Spring Giorgio delivered just that - with a bit of harlequin romance. With a mellow palette consisting of greys, beiges, and black along with navy and green, the languid summers of southern Italy were the designer's inspiration this season.

For day, there's loose draping, sheer fabrics and asymmetrical cuts, with sporty touches like tank tops and nautical stripes. But it doesn't stop there. Beading and prints are mixed to create interesting textures and unique wide belts serve as a buffers breaking up the contrasting ideas. The questionable items were cropped trousers with ties on the sides as well as a genie-esque jumpsuit. I actually quite like the former, thinking they are super laid back luxe. Evening, always a strong suit of Armani, wasn't show stopping, but lovely beaded gowns of dark and light were bellissima.

Celebrity Style: Mischa Barton

It's Milan Fashion Week and Mischa Barton (pictured with Margherita Missoni) attended The New York Times Style Magazine's party in a geometric Karta dress.

This look is girly yet cool, and a bit bohemian, just the way Mischa likes it. Her Chloe Heloise bag matches the dress perfectly, as do the round toe pumps and her red hair.

Fab Flash: Anorexic Woman Used in Italian Fashion Ad

A photograph of a naked anorexic woman is making waves in Italy, where it appeared Monday in newspapers and on billboards to highlight the effects of anorexia during Milan fashion week.

A photograph of a naked anorexic woman is making waves in Italy, where it appeared Monday in newspapers and on billboards to highlight the effects of anorexia during Milan fashion week. The photo is also meant to advertise the Italian clothing brand Nolita to young women.

Shot by Italian photographer Oliviero Toscani, who is well-known for his controversial Benetton campaigns, the aim of the photo was "to use that naked body to show everyone the reality of this illness, caused in most cases by the stereotypes imposed by the world of fashion."

Isabelle Caro, the French model who appears in the photo, has been anorexic for 15 years and suffers from the skin disease psoriasis. The reason for agreeing to do the campaign? "I hid myself and covered myself up for too long. Now I want to show myself without fear even though I know my body is repugnant."

The campaign has received support from Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and the Italian Health Minister, but Fabiola De Clercq, head of the Italian Association for the Study of Anorexia, said that it was "pointless and damaging" to show such a "crude and exaggerated image." What do you think?
