Fab Redux: Shimmer and Shine

With scalloped edges and abstract flower print, this handmade vintage sequined top ($60) straight from the '60s is perfectly decadent.

The design fits right in with the Spring artsy trend, and paired with a simple eggplant skirt it could definitely steal the show — if you're a size small.

Fab Flash: Nina Garcia for Blackberry

Our beloved Nina Garcia can add cell phone spokesperson to her laundry list of career accomplishments.

Our beloved Nina Garcia can add cell phone spokesperson to her laundry list of career accomplishments. Seriously, what doesn't this woman do? She's the fashion director at ELLE, she's a judge on Project Runway, she written a style guide, heck she's even answered our Fab questions. Last night she attended the Blackberry Pearl Smartphone launch.
The phone is a pink version of the Blackberry Pearl, and it's one that Nina Garcia is very passionate about. She says she never goes without her Blackberry, especially during photoshoots and the ever-so-stressful fashion week. Like Nina, there are definitely two things I bring to fashion week with me: my fabulous wardrobe and my Blackberry.

New York Fashion Week

Fab's Ready For New York Fashion Week . . . and So Is Her Wardrobe

As you read this, I am jetsetting to New York for another fabulous and crazy Fashion Week.

As you read this, I am jetsetting to New York for another fabulous and crazy Fashion Week. Thanks, gals, for your outfit inspiration — it totally helped. Luckily, the weather isn't looking too frightful in NYC for the next week, so I won't have to sacrifice style to keep warm.

My color scheme is red, black, white, and floral and animal prints. I am bringing loads of funky jewelry and I didn't realize how many pairs of patent leather shoes I actually had until it came down to it (I'm bringing four pairs). I can't resist an excuse to wear my most lavish outerwear, so I'm bringing a long, black, sharp-shouldered Emporio Armani coat from my days of living in NYC, an adorable red Miu Miu coat from my dolce vita in Italy, and my good ol' camel fur collar vintage coat. As for the rest? Separates! I've ditched most of my dresses for fun top and skirt combos — mixing it up! And here it is: 10 days of my most Fab outfits. See you in NYC!

Don't forget you can always download my outfit planner for your fashion weeks, vacations or whenever you want to be your most organized and stylish. xo

Fab Read: The Little Dictionary of Fashion

If you've ever hankered for style advice from a couturier, look no further.

If you've ever hankered for style advice from a couturier, look no further. Christian Dior himself reveals that he abhors women who wear high heels with slacks, along with other style bites, in The Little Dictionary of Fashion: A Guide to Dress Sense for Every Woman ($14), which was originally published in 1954.

The handbag-sized book, which is fully illustrated and filled with fun facts like Dior finding the color purple to be "a hue full of danger," was recently republished to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dior's famous "New Look" collection.

The Look For Less: Proenza Schouler Safari Vest

Proenza Schouler's Spring '08 collection was inspirational to me because it took certain safari-esque pieces and glamorized them.

Proenza Schouler's Spring '08 collection was inspirational to me because it took certain safari-esque pieces and glamorized them. I especially fell hard for the belted, long khaki vests (left). But being lovestruck doesn't usually equal cha-ching.

Designer Spotlight: Stine Goya

She has been a model for Chanel, a stylist for Harper's Bazaar, and a fashion editor for Cover magazine, and with her new eponymous line, Danish designer Stine Goya has felt out all aspects of the fashion industry.

She has been a model for Chanel, a stylist for Harper's Bazaar, and a fashion editor for Cover magazine, and with her new eponymous line, Danish designer Stine Goya has felt out all aspects of the fashion industry.

Her Stine Goya label is full of bright colors, geometric patterns, jumpsuits, draped dresses, and little dashes of metallics. The collection definitely has a distinct, stark Scandinavian feel to it, but not so much that we can't get in on the fun as well. I'm going to be keeping my eye on this one . . .

Trend Alert: Standout Jewels

Team Fab was just chatting about how jewelry can really make an outfit.

Team Fab was just chatting about how jewelry can really make an outfit. And with today's costume jewelry designers and yesterday's vintage jewelry, there are so many options. Julianne Moore's grey YSL dress is pretty awesome, but all I see here is that amazing colorful Boucheron necklace. I wouldn't even call it a necklace — it is jeweled art. Here are some more standout jewels, ready to inspire . . .

Diane Von Furstenberg

Fab Finger Discount: Diane von Furstenberg Alexis Top

What attracts me to this Diane von Furstenberg Alexis Top ($99, originally $198), besides the rockin' discounted price, is how from afar, the print can pass for polka dots, but from up close, it's more like a fuzzy cotton ball.

Oh, and of course, the sexy back doesn't hurt! Adding this piece to your collection is a must.

More, More, More Fab Pre-Fall!

Ok, I couldn't resist.
More, More, More Fab Pre-Fall!

Ok, I couldn't resist. I hope you all liked the peek at Pre-Fall I provided the other day. And I couldn't help but bring you more. As said before, it looks like Fall will be all about looking grown up — which doesn't mean fun doesn't exist. Au contraire. Designs are crisp, sculptured and tailored, while silhouettes are long and lean. Or, they are dramatic with a full fur coat or meaty skirt. Separates seem to be replacing the dress, though the stunning turquoise Monique Lhuillier in the slide show is a Fab favorite. Also, brown is re-emerging after a long hiatus. Bringing you more, more, more Pre-Fall . . .
