Australia: A Romantic Wardrobe, Part I

Today, the highly anticipated romantic adventure Australia, directed by Baz Luhrmann, releases.

Today, the highly anticipated romantic adventure Australia, directed by Baz Luhrmann, releases. I had the opportunity to preview the film, in all its romantic glory, as well as to speak with the costume designer, Catherine Martin. We also had a fun fete at the San Francisco Ferragamo store, in honor of Lady Ashley's shoes in the movie — all designed by the Italian fashion house. Two styles of limited-edition shoes were reproduced from the movie and are being sold at Ferragamo stores; 950 were made, and the San Francisco store is selling 120 of them.

There's so much to share, but I was really excited to see this film and speak with Martin. I am a huge Baz fan — I own both Moulin Rouge! and Romeo + Juliet — and as you may or may not know, Martin and Baz are married. Call it a cinematic match made in fashion heaven. No wonder the stories Luhrmann tells resonate so well: They are visually and emotionally epic. To hear what Martin had to say about Lady Ashley's wardrobe transformation, her kooky spyglasses (loved these), and the Ferragamo shoes, and to see lots of Australia eye candy, read more

Fab Gift Guide: Stylish Sis

The fun thing about shopping for a stylish sis is that it's like shopping for yourself.
Forever 21 at ShopStyle

The fun thing about shopping for a stylish sis is that it's like shopping for yourself. After all, you and her are two fashionable peas in pod, right? Such a cool sibling warrants a unique gift. I suggest choosing a fun novelty item or splurging on something she wouldn't buy for herself. An experimentally rad sis would love this Forever 21 Paisley Triangle Scarf ($7). Can we share?

On Our Radar: Juicy Couture Gives Thanks

Just because Juicy Couture lives for glamour doesn't mean it doesn't have a caring side.

Just because Juicy Couture lives for glamour doesn't mean it doesn't have a caring side. The company has created "Juicy Gives Thanks," a localized philanthropic program aimed to help the less fortunate. To kick it off, the brand is asking customers to take old Juicy clothes to designated retail stores in exchange for 20 percent off new apparel from Nov. 28 to 30. Juicy will donate the old clothing to a local women’s shelter.

Participating locations include Madison Avenue in New York, Newbury Street in Boston, Mall at Millenia in Orlando, King of Prussia, The Village at Corte Madera, State Street in Santa Barbara, and Houston Galleria. If your city isn't participating, fret not; this initial event is only the beginning of Juicy's giving ways.

Fab Ad: Lady Dior Spring '09 With Marion Cotillard

Warning: the Lady Dior Spring '09 ad you're seeing has been done by highly trained professionals and should not be recreated!

Warning: the Lady Dior Spring '09 ad you're seeing has been done by highly trained professionals and should not be recreated! French actress Marion Cotillard appears to be standing at the edge of the Eiffel Tower to fulfill her modeling duties as the face of Christian Dior's Lady Dior handbags. Of course, the always-handy Photoshop has made it possible for this shot to be fantastical. But let's not forget to credit photographer Peter Lindbergh for capturing this beautiful shot of Marion and her handbag. What do you think? Is Lady Dior's latest ad magical or unrealistic?
