Fab Read: Bringing Home the Birkin

It's many a girl's dream to own a Birkin bag, and it was Michael Tonello's job to make that dream a reality . . . for those who could afford it.

He spent nearly a decade traveling the world in search of Birkins to resell on eBay, and once bought 140 of the coveted bags in a three month period. Tonello's forthcoming memoir Bringing Home the Birkin ($18) chronicles his hunt for the $8,000+ bag, of which Victoria Beckham is said to own 100. "I began to feel like I was a drug dealer," he said. "You know, there are people that will do almost anything to get one of these bags." Intense reading!

Fab Finger Discount: Maggy London Print Charmeuse Halter Dress

I revisited Givenchy's Spring '08 collection today and I'm glad I did because it sparked this post.

I revisited Givenchy's Spring '08 collection today and I'm glad I did because it sparked this post. My adoration for Riccardo Tisci's large graphic polka dots led me to do a search for wearable oversized polka-dot dresses. Alas, I discovered this Maggy London Print Charmeuse Halter Dress ($92, originally $138). What great grownup and fabulous colors! For a more unique take, I'd replace the tie belt with a dark brown leather belt.

Who Wore It Better? Zac Posen Watercolor Dress

Rachel Bilson showed her artsy side by wearing Zac Posen's watercolor dress at a recent movie premiere.

Rachel Bilson showed her artsy side by wearing Zac Posen's watercolor dress at a recent movie premiere. Socialite Olivia Palermo, who was literally at every show at New York Fashion Week, also wore the dress yesterday. Both wore opaque tights, but Olivia also covered up with a black blazer. Whose look are you into more?

Leave it to MK to Olsen-ify the floral trend by wearing fur and a snakeskin clutch. Even though her friends Margherita Missoni, Derek Blasberg, and Arden Wohl are towering over her, she still manages to steal the spotlight.

Fab Flash: Rachel Bilson Does DKNY Jeans

Last week it was Avril Lavigne, and this week it's Rachel Bilson joining the celebrity designer foray.

Last week it was Avril Lavigne, and this week it's Rachel Bilson joining the celebrity designer foray.

Rachel contacted DKNY Jeans to express an interest in working with them, and that's how her junior sportswear line, Edie Rose for DKNY Jeans, came about. The collection will include 15 pieces when it launches in September, including button-down tops, sweaters, jackets, tees, dresses, and dark wash jeans in a black, white, and yellow color palette.

Rachel seems dedicated to her designs: "This line is my main focus right now," she said. "I can't draw at all, so I won't be doing any sketches, but I am learning to sew. I think it's important to know more about the whole process of making clothes."

She named the line for her grandmother Edie, and Rose, a close family friend, because she didn't want to use her own name: "I want people to see these clothes for what they are, not just another line designed by another celebrity," she said. "I want the line to be taken seriously." From these first looks, will you be taking it seriously?
