Designer Spotlight: Skin and Threads

Basics are often associated with boring, but why should they be?

Basics are often associated with boring, but why should they be? It's up to us to find unconventional basics that make us feel simple and stylish at the same time.

Skin and Threads provides basics that surpass the simple tee. In the Winter collection, you'll find long cardigans, tunic dresses, and turtlenecks that can be worn as separates or layering pieces. The best part is that all Skin and Thread material is made of organic and natural fabrics. What I particularly like about this line is that it's timeless and slightly off-kilter . . . perfect for those times when you seek a no-fuss ensemble.

Fab Site: Ebates.com

Getting paid to shop online?

Getting paid to shop online? This site seems too good to be true so I had to check it out and give you all the 411. So here's the deal: Ebates.com offers you cash back for shopping through their site to another. For example, you have to go through ebates.com and click on their link to Target.com to receive cash back on all your purchases — for free. They boast up to a 25 percent savings, but most of the stores range between a 3 and 10 percent savings. The tricky part is that you have to remember to go through the site first before shopping. Sign-up is free and relatively easy, but browsing through stores may be a bit of a pain to maneuver. It has a ton of stores on its list; Piperlime, Shopbop, and Old Navy to name a few. Sounds pretty cool and who doesn't want to make a little bit of extra cash while you shop?

Love It or Hate It

Fergie in Dolce & Gabbana Spring '08: Love It or Hate It?

Fergie looked like a model out of Dolce & Gabbana's Spring '08 ad campaign at her 33rd birthday bash in Vegas.

Fergie looked like a model out of Dolce & Gabbana's Spring '08 ad campaign at her 33rd birthday bash in Vegas. Or did she? I highly doubt Domenico and Stefano would want their pieces worn in such a clashing manner. Individually, I like all the pieces in her outfit — especially the diamond lace-up heels — but she should have either gone with classy or funky, not both. Do you love it or hate it?

March Shopping Madness: Open Mind, Decorated Neck

Giambattista Valli went all out with his Spring '08 runway necklaces.

Giambattista Valli went all out with his Spring '08 runway necklaces. His gravitation towards neck pieces comes at no surprise considering he never takes off his single-strand pearls. Perhaps you don't share in Valli's love of gargantuan jewelry or pearls; find a size and style that works for your personality. An outfit doesn't always call for a necklace, but sometimes it's refreshing to take the focus off the clothes and onto the jewels. Maybe you're into delicate charm necklaces or chunky chokers . . . or better yet, both. I say, keep an open mind, decorated neck.

Style For Style: Removing Nasty Armpit Stains

Lily Donaldson and Gemma Ward make doing laundry look glamorous, but for those of us in the real world, it's anything but.

Lily Donaldson and Gemma Ward make doing laundry look glamorous, but for those of us in the real world, it's anything but. Whether you're doing it in a ball gown or not, the reality is that yellow pit stains are one of the things that make the process grueling. They're stubborn and a major pain to remove. Plus, they make you look smelly, certainly not a look a Fabby is going for.

Celebrity Style: Kate Moss

Changing it up from her practical uniform of skinny jeans and boots, Kate Moss clearly had some fun mixing prints in her striped tunic dress and dotted scarf combo.

Changing it up from her practical uniform of skinny jeans and boots, Kate Moss clearly had some fun mixing prints in her striped tunic dress and dotted scarf combo. She kept the look from being a little too color matchy by throwing in the brown belt — key. Her slightly oversized blazer tones down the abbreviated hemline and adds that certain London quirkiness we've all come to know and love. It's always effortless or bust for Miss Moss.

The Look For Less: Luella Tiered Floral Mini Skirt

Luella's fun, floral frocks have been making their rounds but I'm most smitten with the tiered floral mini skirt that bug-eyed model Masha Tylena wore at the Spring '08 show.

Luella's fun, floral frocks have been making their rounds but I'm most smitten with the tiered floral mini skirt that bug-eyed model Masha Tylena wore at the Spring '08 show. The designer has proven that little girls aren't the only ones who can pull off this style. Now if only she could have made it more affordable . . .
