The eco-chic bandwagon is getting more and more full and jewelry designer Robyn Rhodes is one of its latest riders. Just in time for Earth Day, Robyn is donating 20 percent of the proceeds of this Rumi necklace, named after model/actress Josie Maran's (left) daughter, to Global Green USA. Depending on the metal you choose (sterling silver or 14K-gold filled), the triple-strand necklace featuring an Amazonite pendant will cost you $120 and $126 respectively.
Balenciaga's sporty-chic sandals came out for Fall '07, and Steve Madden is just now duplicating the trend? Regardless of the slow timing, this Steve Madden Buckled Bright Sandal ($100) is Balenciaga gone way wrong. It has way too many buckles and the dainty heel doesn't go with the sporty feel. Famke Janssen was out in NYC to premiere her latest movie Turn the River in Thread Social's blush pink minidress. The tiered petal-like ruffles are tempered perfectly by the contrasting bold neckline; her choice of a studded clutch to offer a subtle dose of toughness is well appreciated. Seems she's not the only celebrity touting the pink-and-black combo, either.
A Klum Makeover
Never one to shy away from a challenge, Heidi Klum has revealed that she would love to try her hand at designing company uniforms — at the behest of America's workers.
In 2005, Elizabeth Hurley famously declared that she would never again be seen eating her lunch in a bikini but for three years now, she's designed a range of St. Tropez-inspired bikinis and kaftans under the label Elizabeth Hurley Beach, which she built from scratch. Next month, she's launching Elizabeth Hurley for Mango, a lower-priced swimwear line full of brightly colored bikinis, kaftans, and one-pieces.
For someone who has "thousands" of bikinis, however, Elizabeth is not such a fan of bikini shoots; that's why she "rel[ies] on nice photographers, and a bit of retouching."
"I like a certain amount of retouching, like anybody,” she admits cautiously. “We all like to get rid of spots and shadows under our eyes. I’ve always been quite particular — I don’t like my face to be retouched . . . I don’t mind if you want to make me a bit thinner and a bit younger, but you can’t give me a different jaw or eyebrows."
