Like we've been preaching for a while now — the French are coming! It's not just us who are intrigued by the je ne sais quoi of the French lassies taking over film and fashion. There's ingenue Clémence Poésy, Oscar-nominee Marion Cotillard, Chanel spokeswoman Audrey Tautou, and now the new face of Miu Miu, and second half of a power couple with Johnny Depp, Vanessa Paradis. This former model and musician definitely knows how to work it for the camera as she's a seasoned muse. Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott will be behind the lens yet again. And like that, Kirsten Dunst is no longer a Miu Miu muse . . .

In more Miu Miu news, the little sister of Prada will open a second store in Los Angeles on Rodeo. Double the news, double the fun.

Sure, when in episode 47 of season three of Sex and the City, when Carrie Bradshaw pleaded with a thief — "They're my favorite pair. I got them half price at a sample sale" — it sounded like she cared more about her Manolo Blahnik strappy sandals than her purple sequined Fendi Baguette. But when that robber ran away with her fabulous purse, we could feel her sadness through the tube. As a tribute to one of Carrie's favorite bags, I tracked down all Fendi Baguettes out there, old and new. Perhaps it will inspire you to get in on the revived trend. What is it about leather jackets that make one look instantly cool? Maybe it penetrated our brain at a young age while we watched The Fonz in his tough leather jacket in Happy Days. Well, times have changed with women and men alike sporting this bad to bone outerwear.
