Seeing Vogue Paris editor Carine Roitfeld and her daughter Julia in such powerful ensembles at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival makes me wish my mom and I were that rich and famous! There were a lot, and I mean a lot, of stunning red-carpet looks this week, but no one was as captivating as this fashionable French mother-daughter duo. Natalie Portman in Givenchy came in at close second, but Carine and Julia take the crown because I believe in power in numbers. The first of the two — Carine in Lanvin — were slick women in black. Later, at the amFAR event they were bombshells in Balmain (cue lightening sound effects). Fierce.

If you've ever been curious to what really happens behind the seams, check out Thread.com. BBC's offspring gives readers a hip and informative point of view into the world of the fashion industry. Many are supporting the latest movement into sustainable practices including Claudia Schiffer and designer Katherine Hamnett who states, “Thread is great because ethical fashion promises to be the next big thing and not just a passing fad. Young people are really interested in these issues.” I second that notion.

I know it's kind of hard to think about Fall while you're basking in the warm sunshine, but trust me, you're going to want to see these images of H&M's upcoming Fall collection.

It looks like the mega-retail chain has upped the ante in their Fall campaign using model Heather Marks to show off their fabulous Winter collection. The knitwear looks fabulous and I'm beginning to love the boxy, menswear-inspired cuts. The collection as a whole is quite refreshing and I look forward to seeing it in stores. Something to look forward to, no?

Speaking of shaking your groove thang, Sarah Jessica Parker showed up to the Late Show With David Letterman wearing a sophisticated black strapless jumpsuit. She kept her accessories simple in order to draw more attention to the great jumpsuit. Smart! Prior to her wardrobe change, she arrived in casual jeans and sexy-as-hell Pedro Garcia suede slingbacks that I've been eyeing for a while. And it wouldn't be SJP unless she did something a little off kilter, like folding only one of her jean legs!
