Sex and the City Style, Season 5

I have to admit season five is probably my least favorite of Sex and the City.
Sex and the City Style, Season 5

I have to admit season five is probably my least favorite of Sex and the City. I don't know if it's because it seemed rushed — it was the season filmed during SJP's pregnancy — or because Carrie was so bitter this time around. I love the gal, but I hate it when she whines. However, her clothes were dramatically more sophisticated and fabulous. Miranda had her own wardrobe woes as "Miranda Baby Weight," Samantha was her same glamour puss self (sans cantaloupes), and Charlotte became Jewish! Check out my other Sex and the City style slideshows!

Nui designs was conceived from the designer's notion that, "Clothes should not be torturing. You should feel pretty now and work on your body later." Precursor to the popular maxi-dress, Nui's designs takes on a relaxed, yet body flattering fit that complements a woman's figure; no matter what size you are. Amen to that!

These handmade, one-size-fits-all frocks have taken Hollywood by craze with celebrities sporting easy, breezy, beautiful tube dresses. Nicole Richie's been spotted wearing a Nui Design, when will you?

The Bag to Have: Yves Saint Laurent Y-Mail Clutch

Oh how nice it would be to have an address in Paris.

Oh how nice it would be to have an address in Paris. I would live on Rue de Rivoli and frolic endlessly. Wake up, Fab! Since that's not going to happen any time soon, why not dream with this Yves Saint Laurent Y-Mail Clutch ($395)? I'll take an address on 7 Avenue George any day. I love how the gold cursive writing looks so nonchalant on the black patent leather. Trés jolie!

Who Wore It Better? Nina Ricci Metallic Gown

Mirror, mirror, on the wall.

Mirror, mirror, on the wall. Who's the fairest of them all? You all loved SJP in this fabulous Nina Ricci creation at the movie premiere last night, but what are your thoughts on Lindsay Lohan wearing the same gown in a photoshoot for Harper's Bazaar? SJP kept her look glam accessorizing with a matching cuff and layered chains while Lindsay opted to pair the frock with a casual, fitted leather jacket. They both look like fairy-tale princesses but who wore it better?

Celebrity Style: Reese Witherspoon

I rarely feature the same celebrity two days in a row, but it's been so long since we've seen Reese out of her workout clothes, I couldn't resist.

I rarely feature the same celebrity two days in a row, but it's been so long since we've seen Reese out of her workout clothes, I couldn't resist. Here, she's taken a very classic look — a chambray shirt, white jeans, khaki cardigan — and added a twist with the low-slung belt. The brown accessories, mainly the flip-flops and hobo bag, add some depth to the ensemble. Altogether, it's a crisp look, perfect for Spring.

Fab Flash: Move Over Martha and Oprah, Make Room for Tyra

Oh, Tyra. Who knew she would go from model and fresh-faced actress on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air to being the next Martha or Oprah — to being a super brand.

Oh, Tyra. Who knew she would go from model and fresh-faced actress on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air to being the next Martha or Oprah — to being a super brand. Tyra has become a household name, and she's got the upcoming cover of The New York Times Magazine to prove it.

This Sunday, our favorite model mentor will grace the cover of the Sunday weekly with an article about how she is striving to become the next female powerhouse. As the NY Times puts it, "Like her hero, Martha Stewart, Banks wants, most of all, for her name to immediately suggest a distinct point of view. Her brand, like her trademark 'tough but still smiling' smile, is consistent in all her shows: serious about the frivolous; empathetic and empowering, and always, always aimed at young women, across all races. It's girly TV with a punch." We all love her dramatic antics on America's Next Top Model, and she's got the looks and bravada to captivate an audience, so I buy it. Do you?

Sex and the City: Iconic Missteps
We all know what a fashion and beauty pioneer Sex and the City was and continues to be. We also know that the characters in the TV show liked to take fashion and beauty risks, and with those risks came some — as we at Sugar like to call them — iconic missteps.

Trend Alert: Funky Kicks

Sneakers are pissed at flats.

Sneakers are pissed at flats. They've taken over as our casual shoe pick of the day. Well, they're not going down without a fight! This season, sneakers have been made over with new color, patterns, and textures. Funky kicks are a fun, sporty alternative to wearing flats so why not give them another go-around? I dare you to be bold, not beige!

Now that Memorial Day has come and gone, can we say it's Summer yet?!

Now that Memorial Day has come and gone, can we say it's Summer yet?! I think so. So, it's Summer and that means sundresses. The combination of red and pink never fails, and this Hawaiian '60s pullover vintage dress with a back zip closure, size small ($44) is nothing short of cute. The subtle tropical print is festive, and you can play it up with a belt or not. Shaka, bra.
