Instead of the sexy commercials I usually associate with Victoria's Secret, I was pleasantly surprised to see a more realistic attempt for their first-ever 2008 swimwear campaign. The video takes on a behind-the-scenes point of view featuring bodacious models Marisa Miller and Alessandra Ambrosio getting real with us on the beautiful beaches of St. Barths. Not only do the long-legged felines talk about their personal favorite swimsuits, they also point out VS's cool mix-and-match bikini feature. After all, who's the same size on the top and bottom? I'm sold. Off to check out their massive swimsuit collection — toodles!

Handbag Designer Spotlight: Nivaldo de Lima

Nivaldo de Lima has created quite a buzz with his intricately handcrafted handbags. Run out of a small family workshop in Mallorca, each of Lima's designs are made with the utmost care and consideration.
Known for classic styling with a modernistic twist, his approach to designing came from the unusual partnership of photographer Louise Bobbe. Bobbe's city flavor and Nivaldo's classic instincts melded together to create timeless, coveted creations. His recently launched online store will surely garner the attention of many urbanites looking for a cute and functional bag.

Step it up, it's time to step into the wonderful world that is glam-o-rama. Plain old flip-flops won't do your sexy bikini justice so opt for some fantastically fetching sandals. Take a clue from Victoria Beckham (cute son optional), who proves every day can be a glamorous day. Whether high or low, these enticing shoes will help you shine your way to the top. What you do when you get there is none of my business.

Rihanna's Balenciaga Gladiator Boots: Love It or Hate It?
Rihanna is never one to shy away from extreme trends, but her Balenciaga gladiator boots are pretty dramatic. Hey, there is nothing wrong with that! The singer visited the BET studios in what may appear to be a crazy outfit, but if anyone can pull it off, it's someone young and funky like Rihanna. I'm relieved she kept the top half of her ensemble all black — anything else would have clashed horribly. Are you digging her gladiator boots or are they better left on the runway?

Fab Flash: Patricia Field Lends a Hand to HSN

I'm not surprised Sex and the City costume designer Patricia Field is already on to her next endeavor. But it's official: her wardrobe for the hit movie was a success. Jonesing for a piece of the House of Field? Tune in to HSN. The flame-haired stylist has partnered with the shopping network on an exclusive brand, Destination Style New York. On September 23 it will launch on TV and on hsn.com.
The collection, designed by Field and longtime House of Field designer David Dalrymple, will consist of 50 pieces ranging from sportswear and denim to dresses and accessories. Will it have some SATC flavor? You betcha. According to Mindy Grossman, HSN's chief executive officer, "This collection is very accessible, with something for everyone. We have the iconic flower dress from the beginning scene in the Sex and the City movie, but we are also selling the flower as a pin, so customers can have just a piece of what we are offering."
This T-shirt dress printed with Field's iconic Martine illustrations is an example of the bold statement Pat Field will make on HSN. Oh and the best part? The collection will retail from $39 to $199. Not too bad for a piece of the Field pie.
Celebrity Style: Hilary Duff
Hilary Duff left her chunky earrings and designer logo bags at home for an uncomplicated, yet gorgeous, Summer look. The actress walked the red carpet for the latest Cartier Love Bracelet Launch party in a Phillip Lim cobalt strapless dress and black-patent gladiator heels. She kept her ears simple with diamond stud earrings and adorned her neck with a gold scalloped necklace — Cartier, perhaps? Can I hear a round of applause for this more pared down Hilary?!
