Designer Spotlight: Metalicus

Any brand whose name sounds like Metallica is all right with me!

Any brand whose name sounds like Metallica is all right with me! No, but seriously, Metalicus, founded by Australian designer Melma Hamersfeld will bring a smile to the faces of girls who love layering and colors. In the early '90s, Melma started with her first round-neck stretch-top design, which has since evolved into a complete bodywear collection that includes basic tees, cropped cardigans, dresses, tights, and more. The brand is widely recognized in Australia and New Zealand but was recently launched in the US market as well. Let's welcome it with open arms!

Life's a Beach: Go Bold and Bodacious

Why not go bold and bodacious with your swimwear this Summer?

Why not go bold and bodacious with your swimwear this Summer? Sexy, loud prints are a fun way to kick in the waves and best of all, they can camouflage any minor imperfections. This yellow confection by the king of prints, Emilio Pucci, is the perfect example of bold bravery. Dramatic side-swept hair like Kim Noorda optional!

Sneak Peek! Botkier for Target

Botkier for Target handbags are right around the corner and we've got 'em for your viewing pleasure.

Botkier for Target handbags are right around the corner and we've got 'em for your viewing pleasure. These bags — priced $20-$50 — will be at select Target stores and at Target.com July 20 through September 14. The line includes clutches, wristlets, satchels and hobos that encompass the designer’s philosophy of using hardware as the “jewelry” of the handbag. The focus of design remains on functionality and the colors include black, white, fuchsia and metallics.

What do we think?! I like these brushed metallic satchels, and I like that they come in both silver and gold. Eenie meenie miney moe!

Fab Ad: Kate Moss for Donna Karan Fall/Winter '08

Donna Karan loved Kate Moss so much in her Spring Campaign, she decided to use the popular supermodel to represent her Fall/Winter '08 collection.

Donna Karan loved Kate Moss so much in her Spring Campaign, she decided to use the popular supermodel to represent her Fall/Winter '08 collection. Shot by Alas and Marcus Piggott, the ad depicts a very sensual and mysterious Kate awaiting her departure on the Orient Express. Karan states, "There's a romantic classicism, a little darkness, an Eastern European kind of decadence. She was on a train . . . on the go, but feels intimate and sexy at the same time."

The ad features Moss sitting amongst a selection of Karan's newly launched handbag collection and was shot at the Union Station in downtown Los Angeles — could have fooled me! She looks like the quintessential classic beauty in a dark crimson suit and I love the old-school styling of her hair and makeup. Totally glamorous and classic.

Celebrity Style: Nicole Richie

Sunny gal Nicole Richie and her baby's daddy Joel spent a lovely and charitable afternoon at the A Time For Heroes Celebrity Carnival event.

Sunny gal Nicole Richie and her baby's daddy Joel spent a lovely and charitable afternoon at the A Time For Heroes Celebrity Carnival event. She came out looking like the Nicole we know, in an adorable yellow floral romper, slingback Loubs, and oversized sunnies. Only, she decided to leave behind the heavy accessorizing for something more minimal. I love Nic's ability to accessorize, but every now and then, it's nice to see something unexpected. And I don't know about you, but I love her latest hippie-braid kick!

Fab Flash: Jessica Simpson Shares Her Intimate Style

If there's one thing Jessica Simpson may know something about when it comes to clothes it's intimates.

If there's one thing Jessica Simpson may know something about when it comes to clothes it's intimates. After all, this blond starlet is fabulously busty. Simpson will be expanding her successful fashion line to include bras, panties, sleepwear, and daywear launching Spring of '09. As Simpson put it, "I like different lingerie for different occasions. I think that's the best thing about it. You can feel sexy or girly depending on your mood. It is the first thing you put on. If you start with something that fits correctly and is comfortable and fashionable, it will only complement your look." She believes lingerie is an important element in a woman's wardrobe. Agreed.

And Simpson isn't forgetting those ugly VPLs; she's also got that covered. That's why she is including stylish shapewear. Now that sounds Fab.

Here's what she's wearing:

  • Bag: Ukay
  • Pants: Bunny

Congrats to berrymix!
