Gap Inc., which owns Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy, recently held its Holiday 2008 collection presentation in NYC, and Fashion Wire Daily showed us some of the holiday goods from the three retailers. With increasing gas prices, we can all afford to shop with a budget-conscious mindset right now, and luckily, we don't have to sacrifice good taste.

At the higher end is Banana Republic, who will offer oodles of evening looks, including a Prada-inspired lace dress. Gap's Holiday line is less fancy and more comfy, with lumberjack plaids and wool coats. Old Navy (pictured left) will provide pops of color.

Who Wore It Better? Strapless Floral Oscar de la Renta Dress

When Cameron Diaz wore Oscar de la Renta's strapless floral dress I thought it was rather matronly for her usually casual taste.

When Cameron Diaz wore Oscar de la Renta's strapless floral dress I thought it was rather matronly for her usually casual taste. To add more maturity, Cam accessorized with matching red pumps and a red pashmina. Jennifer Lopez just wore the same dress, with the designer by her side. To accessorize, Jennifer opted for large gold earrings and nude patent sandals. Both are super ladylike but whose prim look are you liking more?

Freaky or Fabulous? Jewelry Bugs Out

I've heard of some crazy things in fashion but never jewelry made out of dead bugs.

I've heard of some crazy things in fashion but never jewelry made out of dead bugs. Apparently, two 17 year olds, Katheryn Maloney and Brady Cullinan, of Sandwich (ha), MA, are selling jewelry made out of cicadas (a type of insect with large eyes) that are swarming Cape Cod this Summer. For $10 and a trip to the local farmers' market in Sandwich, you can have your very own earring or necklace made out of lacquered-insect corpses. I guess Fall clothes aren't the only things buggin' out. This is too freaky for words. What do you think?

Fall Glimpse: Back to the Future

It was one of my favorite movies in the '80s and it is one of my favorite trends now.

It was one of my favorite movies in the '80s and it is one of my favorite trends now. I don't really see myself in cosmic clothes, but I sure love looking at them. They're so sleek, so severe, so serious. True, they may be most appropriate for the cast of the Star Trek movie (wouldn't that be dope?), but whenever this trend resurfaces it reminds me that it is the future.

YSL's runway (left) was transfixing; architectural shapes, stiff fabrics, drones of models in uniform mop tops and new-wave shades. Others were more wearable — Ferragamo's slivers of metallic and straight jacket-esque creations and the renegades at Rick Owens.

Fab Flash: Rihanna and Gucci Unite For UNICEF

Gucci and Rihanna love children.

Gucci and Rihanna love children. In collaboration with the United Nation's Children's Fund, UNICEF, Gucci has enlisted music sensation Rihanna to spearhead the label's first ad campaign with the nonprofit organization.

"I felt a musician and a beautiful woman was the perfect icon for this campaign" said Gucci's creative director, Frida Giannini.

Dubbed, "Tattoo Heart," the ads will feature Rihanna donning Gucci's special-edition products all incorporating a tattoo-style heart designed for UNICEF. "We've come a long way from Miss Bisou to Gucci," said the 20-year-old singer. "It's an honor to represent Gucci."

Keep your eyes peeled for the first round of ads set to debut in December magazines. Twenty-five percent of sales will be donated to the UNICEF organization.

Note: Rihanna also talked about adding clothing design to her repertoire stating,"I love fashion, so it's only natural for me to want to create my own line." We'll keep you posted on that one.

Celebrity Style: Lauren Conrad

Today is a good day to be Lauren Conrad.

Today is a good day to be Lauren Conrad. Not only is she being featured on Celebrity Style, she's also kicking off Pop's PopSugar 100 announcement! Now that you've read our exclusive interview with the reality star, let's dissect her look. On her way to LA's Smashbox Studios, Lauren wore an adorable McQ V-neck gingham dress — already approved by you — and T-strap sandals. Of course, she didn't leave home without her signature Chanel bag and lightweight jewelry. To tidy up her Marcia Brady-esque straight hair, she used a simple white elastic headband.

Trend Alert: Cross Your Strap

It's not the most obvious trend but if you cross your strap, you'll be hands-free and styling with the likes of Chloe Sevigny.

It's not the most obvious trend but if you cross your strap, you'll be hands-free and styling with the likes of Chloe Sevigny. Cross-body evening bags are perfect for those nonchalant evenings out on the town — or concerts! — and it's a fun way to make use out of your fancy little bags. I've already jumped on this utilitarian trend, will you do the same?
