Fab Finding Follow-Up: Painting Party

Painting walls is never fun when done alone, so last weekend I tricked my friends into helping me paint my dining room.

Painting walls is never fun when done alone, so last weekend I tricked my friends into helping me paint my dining room. I held a painting party filled with bubbly and brushes, and yes, it was messy.

I started you off with these Minnetonka Suede Moccasins ($38) because they kept my toes cushioned and happy as I painted the day away. I asked you to help me find a cute, paint-friendly outfit, so let's see what you came up with!

Look # 1, created by maria212134, is perfect for my painting theme. The overalls remind me of a painter's uniform — great choice!

Simply Fab: Victoria's Secret Invisable Shaping Bra

An upcoming trip to Vegas for a bachelorette party had me in conundrum for a strapless bra.

An upcoming trip to Vegas for a bachelorette party had me in conundrum for a strapless bra. The current one I have makes a funny line across my chest — not cool. A friend suggested I try the Victoria's Secret Invisible Shaping Bra ($68). It was the answer to all my problems. Not only does it relieve me of funny lines, this baby is strapless, backless, washable, and gives me a naturally curvy shape.

Transformation — Maggie Gyllenhaal
With her expressive blue eyes and old-fashioned features, Maggie Gyllenhaal has both come-hither beauty and quirky charm. The star sibling (of brother Jake) experiments with both short crops and long locks, but maintains her brunette hue. After all, Gyllenhaal knows the value of natural beauty. As she told In Style, "What's unconsciously beautiful or sexy about you is often the most compelling."

Ready or Not, Here Stylista Comes . . .

If you haven't already, be sure to watch the first look at Stylista, a new reality show by the CW network debuting Oct. 29. According to the creators, if The Devil Wears Prada were a reality show, it would be Stylista. And Elle's fashion news director Anne Slowely would be Miranda Priestly. At the 2008 Summer TCA Tour, the creators, producers, and cast sat down to talk about the show. Here what Anne had to say.

Oh, and just to give you a sense of her feisty personality, one of the moderators messed up the introductions of the cast, prompting Anne to say, "Don't try to try out for the show." Ouch!

How would you describe yourself to someone who has never met you or doesn't know of you?

A girl from Indiana who got really lucky and has worked very, very hard and has had an opportunity to see the best that the world has had to offer. I mean, my life is a bit of a fantasy, but the hard work keeps it real. As I said before, I love what I do. I feel very lucky and privileged, but I'm also very picky. I've had the privilege to become very centric and very picky.

Do you see yourself as more Miranda Priestly or more Donald Trump, or exactly how do you envision yourself in this role?

Just myself or maybe Lucy from Peanuts, "The doctor is in." No, I actually tried watching that movie (The Devil Wears Prada) with my mother who is 85, and she was like, "I don't get this. Take it off." I was like, "But, Mom, that's my life." She's like, "I don't understand it," so I actually haven't watched the movie. I'm just being myself, you know.

Fab Flash: Eva Mendes Delivers a One, Two Knockout For Calvin Klein Underwear

Get ready for a one, two knockout from Eva Mendes.

Get ready for a one, two knockout from Eva Mendes. Her role as the new face of Seductive Comfort by Calvin Klein Underwear and the Secret Obsession scent, will launch in magazines worldwide in September.

The actress, who has been devoted to the label's underwear since her campaign with Klein in the '80s, stated, "I wear [Calvin Klein] G-strings all of the time on the red carpet and when shooting for a film because you don't see the [panty] lines."

Shot by photographer Steven Meisel, the campaign's intent was to stray away from its older images of skinnier body types. "This is a departure from more slender body types that have typically been used in Calvin Klein Underwear ads. But this is not so much about a trend of being more curvaceous. This [bra] product is made for a curvaceous woman" said president and chief operating officer of Calvin Klein Inc., Tom Murry.

Just how devoted is the actress to her panties? Rumor has it that Mendes will most likely be donning her favorite nude G-string, (under clothes, of course), in her upcoming flick with cohorts Annette Bening, Debra Messing, Meg Ryan, Candice Bergen, and Jada Pinkett Smith in The Women.

Celebrity Style: Rachel Bilson

Cutie patootie Rachel Bilson spent an afternoon running errands in LA, but she didn't let a little to-do list stop her from dressing in style.

Cutie patootie Rachel Bilson spent an afternoon running errands in LA, but she didn't let a little to-do list stop her from dressing in style. Still, she maintained a level of comfort in Mayle's floral embroidered dress and flat sandals. I love that instead of Wayfarers, she threw on retro Ray Ban Clubmaster sunnies to help her go incognito.

Sizzlin' Miami Swim, Part I

It's prime bikini time. Miami knows this as it is housing the Miami 2008 Swim shows right now. I always like to scope out the newest bathing suit styles and discover new swim designers — and I just ignore the perfectly toned bodies of the swimsuit models. It's really about the design of the clothes, I swear. Here's a batch of sizzlin' suits where prints, bold cuts and cover ups steal the show. I gotta get me one of these flowing tie dye skirts from the Cia Maritima runway — perfect for partying it up in Punta del Este.
