Fab Read: Vogue Covers, On Fashion's Front Page

A recent bout of Spring (Summer?) cleaning had me up to my ears in all of my old Vogue magazines.

A recent bout of Spring (Summer?) cleaning had me up to my ears in all of my old Vogue magazines. A self-proclaimed fashion junkie, I couldn't bear the thought of tossing these precious mags. My limited living space left me searching for some type of best-of compilation of their delectable works. You could imagine my excitement when I fell upon Vogue Covers: On Fashion's Front Page ($47) by Robin Derrick and Robin Muir.

This book boasts over 200 pages of Vogue's most influential and iconic covers that span over almost 100 years. I'll still keep copies of my personal faves but this book practically sums it up.

Fall Glimpse: Mad Plaider

Log cabins. Maple syrup. Grunge. My 21st birthday D&G dress.

Log cabins. Maple syrup. Grunge. My 21st birthday D&G dress. These are all a few of my favorite plaid things. While you probably already have a plaid item in your closet, or your boyfriend's closet, plaid has gone a bit mad for Fall. Consider an Edwardian jacket and pants a la McQueen, a tucked and pleated dress at Thakoon, mismatched and buttoned up at D&G. But my favorite is the slightly punky, paired with gray tights anime-looking Luella girl (left). She may look a bit mad, but whether it's tartan, glen, or buffalo, it's the shape of plaids to come.

Trendtotting: Anchors Away
The Fourth of July has always been a favorite holiday of mine. I don't know if it is the patriotic music, the day-long barbecues, or the firework displays, but it always puts a smile on my face. And, I like to dress the part in patriotic colors. Show me some tot togs in red, white and blue and I get giddy.

Nicky Hilton is all about funky printed dresses lately and why not because they look so darn good on her. In general, prints are hard to pull off, but Nicky's eye is impeccable; she chooses ones that are exotic and mature. This Fab silk Nu Collective dress she wore while out to dinner with her boyfriend is no exception. And her accessories — Jeffrey Campbell studded sandals and purple Valentino bag — do a fine job of accentuating the look.

On Our Radar: Earl Jeans Are Back With a Vengeance

Any old-time Earl Jean fans in the house?

Any old-time Earl Jean fans in the house? OK, the brand isn't that old. Let's just say, before there was J Brand, there was Earl. If you like the no-frills, body-hugging style of J Brand, you'll love the relaunched Earl. I used to shop at their store in SoHo, New York, and was addicted to the original skinny jean, as well as their jean jackets (I still wear my dark-denim one and white one).

They made great men's jeans, too. If you didn't wear Earl, you probably at least heard about celebrities wearing them: they were the first premium denim line to have celebrity attachment in the late 1990s. The brand folded around 2005 and is back for Fall '08 under new ownership with Arnold Simon — who used to the be the CEO of Calvin Klein Jeans. Look forward to more original skinnies as well as boot cut, straight leg, super flare, pretty much every style you can think of, in every wash imaginable. The best part: They will be more affordable. Prices will range from $78 to $128. Go-to retailers will include Macy's, National Jean Company, and Fred Segal.

We couldn't expect anything but the best at the grand opening of YSL's stand-alone Edition 24 space at London's Dover Street Market.

Fashion A-listers who joined YSL designer Stefano Pilati in fashion giddiness included Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, stylist Katie Grand, and Erin O'Conner, perused the amazing limited-edition items inspired by travel and functionality. Perfect for all those jet-setters, no? The theatrical set designed by Michael Howells worked as a great backdrop for the guests as they partied away and enjoyed copious amounts of bubbly. Pilati even gifted his friends with a limited-edition YSL canvas bag — lucky ducks!

Celebrity Style: Kate Moss

Only Kate Moss can make going from a suit to a bikini seem totally normal.

Only Kate Moss can make going from a suit to a bikini seem totally normal. The supermodel got dressed up in one of my new favorite color combinations: white and ivory. Her ivory suit means business but looks all pleasure, and her crisp white tank lends the casualness that Kate craves. The brown wedge sandals also dress down the look and make it more hot-weather practical. Here is proof that suits don't always have to equal business.

Simply Fab: Scarlett Johansson Tank for Torn by Ronny Kobo

Scarlett Johansson acts, sings, and apparently designs as well.

Scarlett Johansson acts, sings, and apparently designs as well. The triple threat has lent her creativity to this Torn by Ronny Kobo Tank ($65), which is sold exclusively at Intermix in honor of the third annual VH1 Rock Honors. I can never get enough of gray, but the small coral music clef on the front and the row of dots around the neck are a special treat. In case you ever forget who the tank is designed by, you can turn to the back where it says "Scarlett" with a heart at the center of the neck. Music to my ears!

A Few More Words With the Captivating Coco Rocha
I've been lucky enough to interview model Coco Rocha twice over the past four months. Our first encounter was back in February just before the Rag & Bone show. This time I had a few more personal questions to ask.
