While Miranda Kerr took her high-waisted black shorts on a tropical vacation, Lauren Conrad wore hers out on the town with an Alexander Wang top. It goes to show how versatile high-waisted black shorts are. They can weather extreme heat and go party hopping with you, too!
As exemplified by both Miranda and Lauren, you should tuck your top into your shorts, to show off the high waist. Just make sure your top is not too frilly or loud; the high-waist style is already a tad trendy on its own.
Before bug-like shapes were swarming at the couture shows, they were trailblazing on the Fall runways. Whether you like this structured, cocoon-conjuring silhouette or not, get used to it. I'm pretty girlie girl when it comes to bugs — I don't like 'em — and I'm still warming up to the notion. But there's no denying the keen craftsmanship that went into these stiff, innovative coats. Proenza Schouler's fluttering cape coat is pretty rad, and that chartreuse color is scrumptious.
Side note: This is a direct blow to the fast fashion retailers; it will be very hard to re-create the elaborate ease of such a silhouette on the cheap. Dun dun dun.

I am so sorry to keep talking about autumn, I know we haven't even had Summer yet but with the current grey skies and rain I can't help but look forward to the new season. It has just been announced that Luella will design a collection for Urban Outfitters!
Stephen Jones has taken a role in the highly anticipated film, Coco Before Chanel featuring Audrey Tautou. The sought-after milliner, who has designed head pieces for some of the top fashion houses including Mugler, Gaultier, and Christian Dior, will be creating hats for our little French Fabcon in the upcoming biopic.
"She will make a wonderful Chanel, she is equally as petite. We have had to adjust everything. We put a little flower on her head and it looked like a cushion," said Jones. We can't wait to see his millinery madness!
Are you all ready for another Target GO International collection? Um, always! The photos for Richard Chai for Target have been released and there's more than a few goodies to be had. Exposed zippers are still going strong and there's a good balance between bright and muted colors. There's a nice fusion of feminine and androgynous pieces. Large floral designs will appeal to many, while long vests will excite the menswear-inspired trend followers. My eyes are on the floral blouse, black zipper skirt, and long gray vest. How about you? Stars Turn Out For Mario Testino’s Photo Party
Stars were shining bright at the opening of celeb and fashion photographer Mario Testino’s latest exhibition, Obsessed by You. And Testino himself appeared pretty starstruck by his party’s celebrity turnout. “I’ve planning this for so long, look how many people came!” he told People last night, at the luxe Phillips de Pury & Company auction house event in London.
Vanessa Minnillo and beau Nick Lachey got out of their swimming suits and into regular clothes for a night out. Vanessa showed off her tan legs in a polished denim shirtdress. Such a dress is ideal for a warm night because it's loose and the sleeves will prevent you from getting cold in an air-conditioned restaurant. Fashion moves at the speed of light. While some designers with sound financing can keep up, there are many who can't and don't want to. Those in the latter situation have shifted their mentality and are taking a more seasonless stance on fashion.
"What excites us about the seasonless approach is that after decades of forced obsolescence by design in retail, people are beginning to rewrite the rules on what is an acceptable rhythm in the fashion cycle," said Brian Janusiak, founder of Project No. 8, a fashion and design outpost in New York's Chinatown.
Signs of a seasonless fashion future have already surfaced. First, global warming is causing seasonal temperature changes and unpredictability. A more subtle change is that designers are placing more importance on resort collections. Diane von Furstenberg, for example, included more seasonless pieces in her 2009 resort collection (above) to give her jet-setting customers more flexibility.
