Alexis Bledel

This Week's Fab Favorite: Alexis Bledel

Here are some fun facts about Alexis we didn't know: her first language is Spanish, she is 5'7" (doesn't she look petite, though?), and her favorite band is Radiohead.

Here are some fun facts about Alexis we didn't know: her first language is Spanish, she is 5'7" (doesn't she look petite, though?), and her favorite band is Radiohead. Considering the fact that she looked smashing in a Mischen dress, Alaia heels, and a cool gold clutch at the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 premiere, atop those other fun facts, Alexis is bonafide Fab. I always thought she was adorable on Gilmore Girls — those blue eyes are amazing — but she just went up a few notches.

I like that even with a highly detailed dress she opted for eclectic accessories. The one shoulder and structure of the dress make it a stand out. You can't beat Alaia shoes — favored by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen — and her criss-cross heels are slightly naughty, totally funky. The gold clutch is futuristic looking and her diamond studs are perfection. Pulling back her hair was a good call and bright pink lips are always scrumptious. Cute, cute and more c-ute.

Best Foot Forward: The Campaign For Best Dressed Feet Fashionistas and politicians are combining forces lately! While Michelle Obama made the Vanity Fair international best-dressed list, her better-half (or maybe her entire family?) has a boot named after him. The Coclico Obama High Heel Boot is selling on Shopbop for $540.00. The leather boots "seam detailing adds an inspired touch to a sophisticate style." Inspiration plus sophistication just screams Obama doesn't it.

Designer Spotlight

Designer Spotlight: Ishii NYC

Now that Fall glimpses are underway, it's an opportune time to present to you the Fall collection of Ishii NYC.

Now that Fall glimpses are underway, it's an opportune time to present to you the Fall collection of Ishii NYC. The brand was founded by Tamae Ishii, a Tokyo-born, California-raised fashion designer with a knack for traveling. Ishii graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York and worked with Valentino during her time in Italy. She also honed her skills alongside Calvin Klein, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Zac Posen. Not bad!

The Fall collection has an equestrian undertone but an air of elegance that women crave. Even Ishii's use of plaid is sophisticated. The line's cloche hats give a nod to the flirty flappers of the '20s. These combinations give you a collection you can't help gushing about.

Fab's August Most Wanted

Fab's August Most Wanted

This morning I woke up and realized: I've had a pretty good Summer thus far. August will be the perfect kick back month to hang poolside, enjoy barbecues and partake in lazy movies nights. I'm on a shopping freeze, getting ready for Fall, therefore my coveted items are mostly transitional. And mostly colorless! What can I say . . . I love the look of crisp neutrals again a Summer tan. This festive Tara Matthews flamingo dress is the exception — isn't it adorable? New York Fashion Week is right around the corner, so enjoy the mellow month.

Celebrity

Celebrity Style: Emma Stone

Wasn't I just talking about what a doll emerging star Emma Stone is?

Wasn't I just talking about what a doll emerging star Emma Stone is? She looked spot on at the Pineapple Express premiere. She is young, fun, and feels comfortable in her skin; her outfit said just that. The mixing of black and blue creates a cool moody effect. Her black wraparound belt and the subtle bubble hem contrast each other and her peep-toe booties were fresh. This leaves me wanting to see more from the fresh-faced star.

Fab Finding

Come Fab Finding With Me: Camp Fab-a-Fab-a-Hey

I'd like to ask the question what did camp mean to you, too.

I'd like to ask the question what did camp mean to you, too. I miss camp. Escaping the Summer lazys (and the 'rents) for color war, talent shows, and three-day boyfriends was the best. I went to two camps; one horseback riding, more traditional camp, and a scuba diving camp. It was weeks of youthful fun. However, I never made it to camp counselor. How about creating a look for the most fashionable counselor on the ranch?

You can build from this American Living Jacket ($40, originally $120). A denim jacket takes me way back to Kumbaya.

Let's go Fab Finding. Be sure to come back and tell me your Fab Finds are up, or just tag your Fab Finds with camp Fab.

Now, you can build outfits by creating a list of clothing items. We have everything you need to build outfits, and you can use your Fab-Find bookmarks, too. This is an even better way to put together an entire outfit when you are completing your Fab-Finding missions.

Learn what a Fab Find is and how to make one. And here is a more detailed explanation of bookmarks from geeksugar.
