Calling all budding fashion designers: Gen Art will start taking submissions for its International Design Competition come Monday, Jan. 19. The winner in each category — women’s ready-to-wear, eveningwear, avant-garde, menswear, and accessories — will be gifted a $5,000 Award for Design Excellence. Eligible participants include student designers and those with less than seven years experience designing under their own name. According to sources, past competitions bolstered the careers of Peter Som and Laura and Kate Mulleavy of Rodarte. Deadline for submission is March 17.
Trend Alert: Wintry Whites
Take a gander at Grey's Anatomy actress Melissa George looking like an uptown snow princess in her wintry white ensemble. This soft tone is a sleek cold-weather option and makes for a great statement. I like how Melissa chose to go all out in head-to-toe Winter white, but if that's too bold for you, I suggest investing in a cozy coat. It's the perfect way to stay stylishly warm.

CommentsFabcon: Ivanka Trump
Ivanka. With a name like that you have to have presence. I can attest to the fact that Ivanka does. I met her, years ago, when she was modeling. I was in college dressing shows backstage at a Fashion Week. She went to the University of Pennsylvania with a best friend of mine. I dropped my friend's name and she knew her. We then chatted about life, fashion — you know, the good stuff. She was sweet and she was gorgeous. It's been fun seeing her progress after our chance meeting.
Not only does this girl have style, she has a genuine interest in business. She is learning the ropes of her father's real estate world and she launched her own high-end jewelry collection (which she wears all the time). She's smart and pretty — an envious combination. Oh, and did I mention she has legs for days?
Her style is classic, yes. But she isn't afraid to mix things up with color and by showing a little skin. From crisp coats to goddess gowns, she always looks calm and collected. She may be a daddy's girl, but she has emerged from papa Trump's shadow and is creating an empire all her own.

Celeb Style: Nicky Hilton
Nicky is looking her usual LA-cool self in her gray boyfriend v-neck tee, denim cut-offs, a rockin' studded vest, and Goyard tote. She piled on luxe hippie jewels and a macho watch; Givenchy cut-out booties complete her casual look.
Privileged Style: Megan Smith
Megan goes a little more business casual in her second cute look from the 14th episode of Privileged. She wears a ruffle blazer with black Paige jeans and spices it up just a bit with her blue, floral-print scarf. Shop a similar look now.

Privileged Style: Sage Baker
As she chats with her sister Rose (who's wearing a sweet, heart cardigan), Sage spices things up with her leopard-print bustier (like the one from D&G). The rest of the look is a little more subtle, but just as cute. While you're at it, shop her Paige jeans and charm necklace too.
