Bette Porter went from casual to glamourous in this, her second, beautiful look from the first episode of The L Word. The Vera Wang dress is the perfect LBD because it's cut well and has a little touch of whimsy with the butterfly applique. Shop that and a pair of Sigerson Morrison pumps for Bette's complete look.

Mia Kirshner's character Jenny Schecter is one of the more stylish ladies on The L Word. She proves it with this oh-so-cool look. Re-create a similar combination with a cream and black dress from Mayle paired with a cropped leather jacket from the same designer. A pair of leggings and simple sandals complete Jenny's put-together look.

Cheap & Chic: Beanie Babe

Everywhere I look these days, I spot a cool beanie.

Everywhere I look these days, I spot a cool beanie. It makes me want to expand my collection with a bevy of colors and fabrics. You lose most of your body heat through your head, so grab a cheap beanie and be on your way — for sure if you live in a chilly city. It looks like beanie babe Emma Roberts, spotted at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival holding her new Celine bag, has already done so in her pink version. Beanies are an easy way to accessorize, and if you get a neutral color, it'll match with everything you wear.

Diane Kruger wore her ivory Giambattista Valli dress in Paris at a movie premiere in November. She accessorized with deep red velvet pumps and a white watch. Voila. Marissa Tomei also wore Valli's daring creation, albeit the black version, to an inaugural ball in Washington. She kept her look monochrome with black satin pumps. It's a toughie to pull off, but who worked it better?
