Which Model Looks Most Fab at the amfAR Gala?

To help kick off New York Fashion Week, amfAR hosted a glamorous gala attended by a bevy of models. Doutzen Kroes struck a pose in a floaty red chiffon frock; Lily Donaldson wore a champagne gown with a unique black band; Jessica Stam stood regal in a slick black number with shimmery slices; Noemie Lenoir opted for a sexy red silk gown; and Anja Rubik played it pretty in an ethereal light lavender gown. They all deserve a standing ovation but which look reigned supreme?

Abaete

Fabworthy: Tailcoats, Chains, and Lurex at Abaete

While serenaded by a live string orchestra at Abaete, I fell in love with three things.

While serenaded by a live string orchestra at Abaete, I fell in love with three things. A "Theodore" tailored jacket in black twill that fulfills my vampire fantasies, the Abaete for Payless "Antoine" fold over black bootie with chain detail (remember they do a designer collaboration every season?), and lurex flecks and waves found on numerous tops and dresses. The collection was pretty Fab as a whole, inspired by Les Incroyables, a fashion subculture of post-revolutionary French society in the 1790s. See what I mean about a vampy vibe?

New York Fashion Week, Fall 2009: Jason Wu

Behold: My view at Jason Wu!

Behold: My view at Jason Wu! Unless you've been in Thailand the last month, you'd know Jason Wu was one of the most sought after invites for New York Fashion Week. Yours truly experienced the magic. It's no wonder first lady Michelle is a fan — Wu has the lightest touch I've ever seen. Concurrently, these clothes had substance. To answer the burning question: No, Michelle did not attend the show — darn.Inspired by the drawings of Arthur Rackham, who illustrated Alice in Wonderland (one of my favorite books!), models with twig headpieces glided down the runway. Pieces progressed from smart sportswear with feminine touches to ghostly gorgeous gowns. I do hope we'll see this violet chiffon embroidered gown on the Oscar red carpet. With a rainbow of colors and a variety of pieces, this collection is sure to succeed. Feminine details like embroidery, twists, drapes, paillettes, and swarovski crystals, were found on sheaths, skirts, blouses, and, of course, dresses. Considered me wooed.

New York Fashion Week, Fall 2009: Yigal Azrouel

You can always count on Yigal Azrouel to chill out Fashion Week.

You can always count on Yigal Azrouel to chill out Fashion Week. Catering to the downtown set, Yigal showed a luxurious, yet rugged, collection of cozy chic coats, stovepipe pants, statement dresses, and draped layers. The gal in Yigal looks like she's not trying too hard. The palette was smoky, with shots of red and purple, and ivory kept things crisp; black and gray never looked so good together. There was a perfect mix of constructive and slouch. Dramatic collars tickled my fancy, as well as a perfect camel fur chubby (below), and leather accents. The designer collaborated with jewelry designer Pamela Love, and exotic cuffs, claw earrings, and big silver rings delivered an even tougher vibe. At the same time, jaws were wagging about the controversial front row guest: Eliot Spitzer's ex-call girl, Ashley Dupre. Say what?

Girls on Film: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Plumes & Dentelles

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. There is no better way to start your romance-filled day than with shots from Ellen von Unwerth's 2005 book, Plumes & Dentelles (Feathers and Lace). Trust me, it will not only put you in a loving mood, but also a lusting mood! Models Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Melissa Rose Haro play dress up, Marie Antoinette-style. Pink, lace, ruffles, corsets, flowers, garters, pearls — if it's a symbol of sexy, it's included. These seriously make me want to rummage Agent Provocateur, pronto. Who knows, maybe it will inspire you to reenact the scenes for your honey tonight. Wink, wink.

Ahoy mate! Check out this cute Vintage Sailor Dress, size small/medium. The bright hue is quite infectious and makes me yearn for the warm Spring breeze. Sigh. Until the frost melts away, I suggest pairing it with black tights and booties. Don't you adore the oversize collar and white rope detailing? I do.

The current bidding price is at $9.99 and the auction ends on Sunday, Feb. 22. Good luck and happy bidding!
