2011 Spring New York Fashion Week: Tory Burch

Tory Burch constantly delivers the new classics — collections that introduce something new and edgy, without losing that timeless edge.

Tory Burch constantly delivers the new classics — collections that introduce something new and edgy, without losing that timeless edge. Her Spring '11 presentation was no exception, only this time she brought a cool '70s vibe to shake things up. Burnt orange, yellow brights, major pinstripes on pants and jackets, a preppy-meets-hippie navy tiered peasant dress, maxi shirt dresses, and crochet details are just a few of the coveted pieces. While her polished sensibility makes its way into the line via metallic belted pencil skirts, printed tees and shorts, and neutrals, it's all so easily wearable — we can't get enough.

Michael Kors

2011 Spring New York Fashion Week: Michael Kors

Michael Kors let the sun shine in!

Michael Kors let the sun shine in! The mood of his Spring collection is upbeat, beach bright, and polished — all set to the tune of an insane mastermix of "Here Comes the Sun." Model favorites Isabeli Fontana, Carolyn Murphy, Chanel Iman, and Karolina Kurkova looked positively glowing as they strutted their stuff. Kors designed his trademark slouchy-chic pieces in the most luxe fabrics á la cashmere sweatshirts, linen suits, and leather trench coats. He is the master of relaxed clothes while never having it look sloppy. Big props to the classic use of hot Summer colors — shots of blue, purple, pink, khaki, white, and yellow were radiating from the runway. There were even a few pieces featuring a grassy print!

We love everything about his self-dubbed "naturaluxe" style, which can best be described as a hybrid between urban fashionista and beach bunny. Throw on one of Kors's oversized croc shoulder bags (for sunscreen, mags, and one of his canvas hats), and you're set for some major fun in the sun.

SJP Debuts Lori Goldstein for Fred Leighton Necklace

We're thrilled to present our favorite InStyle story here on Fab!

We're thrilled to present our favorite InStyle story here on Fab!

Sarah Jessica Parker was on hand for the unveiling of Halston’s Spring 2011 collection last night (and modeling it head-to-toe) and while we loved her red-hot look, it was her necklace we couldn’t take our eyes off of! Parker complemented her jersey dress with a white jade necklace with precious and vintage-painted wood beads from Lori Goldstein for Fred Leighton. The necklace is part of a 25-piece collection that the super-stylist designed for Fred Leighton. The collaboration, which debuted on Fashion’s Night Out, features one-of-a-kind bead necklaces comprised of faceted diamonds, Tahitian pearls, vintage glass, sapphires, hand-painted Czechoslovak wooden beads and a Victorian crystal heart. The line ranges from $3,500 to $25,000 and is the fine jeweler’s first-ever collaboration.

2011 Spring New York Fashion Week: Yigal Azrouël

Don't let the futuristic neon pink eyeliner or slick high buns fool you — Yigal Azrouël’s Spring 2011 collection is the portrait of soft, light, and feminine.

Don't let the futuristic neon pink eyeliner or slick high buns fool you — Yigal Azrouël’s Spring 2011 collection is the portrait of soft, light, and feminine. Every blouse, every dress was created from the sheerest of sheer chiffons and silks. Even the drawstring shorts and elastic-waistband pants seem comfy. Azrouël paid a lot of attention to the backside detailing: geometric cutouts (rectangles and color blocks), buttons lined from the neck down, and fly-away draping. Delicate fabrics aside, what makes the Azrouël gal stand out? With color contrasting, of course. We were completely drawn to the vibrant yellows, stark whites, striped chambray, and a dash of blue bandeau. This is a definite mix-and-match collection, so combine sheers with solid shorts, or grab the white tailored blazer for a chic touch.
