Celeb Style: Jessica Alba

In a look that beats the boredom of a typical travel ensemble, Jessica Alba made a styled arrival in Paris to attend the Haute Couture shows.

In a look that beats the boredom of a typical travel ensemble, Jessica Alba made a styled arrival in Paris to attend the Haute Couture shows. With functional — and totally fun — leather-meets-anorak outerwear, she puts together a look that's monochromatic-chic, with the help of a fur-trimmed cardigan ($30) and motorcycle boots. A rhinestone collar necklace ($27, originally $45) and a floppy fedora for extra interest, and a boho tote complete the look. Click the items above to shop a similar style.

2011 Spring Couture: Christian Dior

Beginning in Paris today, Haute Couture Fashion Week kicked off with Christian Dior's Spring/Summer '11 collection. I wouldn't expect anything less than this kind of decadent sophistication from the design house, whose past collections have their roots of inspiration in florals, garden parties, and royalty. This time, the Spring/Summer looks offer John Galliano's whimsy in the form of pencil skirts, pleats, feather-embellished evening gowns, and vintage glamour. The color palette is rich with reds, greens, blues, and then pastel pink and yellow. It's fiercely feminine, as we'd expect, balancing outrageous volume with slim silhouettes; some is totally posh, more severe, then it softens — full of embellishment, oversize bows — to the all-out decadence of evening. Inspired Style: Leather Meets Longer Hemline

The longer-hemline trend is staying put for now, but if demure isn't your thing, follow Kate Bosworth's lead.

The longer-hemline trend is staying put for now, but if demure isn't your thing, follow Kate Bosworth's lead. The actress offers a new way to rock the trend by pairing a cropped leather tank with her knee-length black skirt. All you need to re-create the look is a black leather top — tee, tank, or cropped, as long as it's leather — and some killer heels. While your skirt will be saying lady, your upper half will be screaming badass! Click to shop the look.

Prada Spring 2011 was one of the most dynamic collections of the season, so we were quite excited to see how the brand would showcase the collection.

Prada Spring 2011 was one of the most dynamic collections of the season, so we were quite excited to see how the brand would showcase the collection. The vivid stripes and prints are on full display in the print ad photographed by Steven Meisel, but they come alive in the video, which features models like Arizona Muse and Mariacarla Boscono getting their groove on to "Mirando" by Ratatat. Here are both the print campaign and the video: which one appeals to you more?

Nine West, in a strategy called Shoelaberations, is committed to designer collaborations to keep its brand fresh — and by our guess, irresistible. In an article in WWD, Nine West announced that Brooklyn-based designer, CFDA award-winner, and French expat Sophie Theallet will debut a capsule collection of shoes and accessories for Spring 2011. What's more, new Ungaro designer Giles Deacon is working on a collection for Fall 2011. Yippee! Here's a sneak peek at two of Theallet's pieces. We think they're a perfect match for a sundress and a picnic along the Seine, no?

Trend Alert: Leather Mix-and-Match

While the rest of us are still experimenting with how to wear just one leather piece, Olivia Palermo has taken it to a new level of cool with two shades of buttery, leathery goodness.

While the rest of us are still experimenting with how to wear just one leather piece, Olivia Palermo has taken it to a new level of cool with two shades of buttery, leathery goodness. We love how the two pieces pair effortlessly, not as if they came together in some kind of prestyled set but met up organically to complement the look. That's exactly how you want to wear it — the leather mix-and-match isn't about creating a leather suit, it's about finding complementary shades, like a worn, brown jacket and pretty, pale green skirt. Then, do just as Olivia does, and fight the Catwoman effect by throwing in softer textures, like a cozy fur vest or a cashmere sweater.
