The Gotham Independent Film Awards took place in NYC last night to celebrate the best in independent films. Elizabeth Olsen and Felicity Jones were both up for the Breakthrough Actor Award for their respective roles in Martha Marcy May Marlene and Like Crazy. Elizabeth, wearing a gorgeous nude embellished Valentino, said that her family doesn't have any holiday traditions. She also mentioned that no one has requested to style her . . . yet. Watch our entire coverage of the Gotham Awards now. Footage provided by LifeMinute.
We were excited to hear all of the 2012 Spirit Awards nominees, but we were more enamored with Kate Beckinsale's sleek and chic ensemble. The brunette beauty rocked a lace Tadashi Shoji dress with classic Brian Atwood pumps. To finish off her glowing style, we added a few gold accessories and navy leather clutch. Snag her staple kicks now to pair with all of your holiday looks.
Don't forget to tune in tonight at 10 p.m. EST to see the angels in action at the Victoria's Secret fashion show airing tonight on CBS. To get you in the mood, take another look at photos from the show, which happened two weeks ago, and get the rundown of what to expect!
Victoria's Secret hosted its annual fashion show extravaganza at the Armory in NYC filled with beautiful models and rockin' music to go with it. We were entranced right from the beginning; Candice Swanepoel took the opening spot walking out in a gorgeous pair of ballet-inspired wings and a thong set, with Angels following in a sexy array of feathered, tutu-embellished ensembles. Four more themes followed highlighting Super Angels — Kanye West and surprise guest Jay-Z showed an awesome performance during this set — with models like Alessandra Ambrosio and Karlie Kloss decked out in comic-inspired capes and thigh-high boots. The crowd danced along and even Beyoncè made a quick appearance to support her husband dressed in an ethereal white gown. Miranda Kerr got to wear the $2.5 million Fantasy Treasure bra as Orlando Bloom stood in the front row clapping as she went down the runway. But there was even more love during the show: During Maroon Five's performance, Adam Levine kissed his VS angel Anne Vyalitsina during the set. Other highlights included light-up neon wings and rotating umbrellas. Check out the complete runway show and after party pictures in the slideshow now.
The British Fashion Awards attracted a slew of fashionable attendees including Victoria Beckham, Alexa Chung, Olivia Palermo, and Kate Moss. Sarah Burton — who had quite the year designing Kate Middleton's gown for the royal wedding — won the Designer of the Year award for continuing Alexander McQueen's vision and legacy. Stella McCartney took home the Red Carpet award, and it's no surprise considering her huge celebrity following. Her pal Kate Hudson even presented Stella with the award. It Brit Alexa Chung snagged the British Style award for the second year in a row and definitely dressed the part in a sweet Christopher Kane sheath and Charlotte Olympia shoes. Watch to see our entire coverage of the stylish event! On Allison: Theory blazer, H&M top.
As further proof that covering up for the cold doesn't have to be boring, Kate Moss outfits a perfectly cool Winter-weather combo while out with her daughter. We love how she effortlessly plays with the on-trend, adding a pair of bold leopard-print skinnies to liven up a classic black overcoat. It's that mix of all black and statement bottoms that works seamlessly, making the look just a little out of the ordinary, but nothing over the top. Looking to channel the same style? Just shop our editors' picks to get Kate's look.
