All eyes were on Prince William and the new Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, as the two tied the knot this morning in London. Kate wore a lace gown designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and a Cartier tiara given to her by the Queen. Kate Middleton Decks Her Bridesmaids Out in White: Would You Do the Same?
In the US, bridesmaids (and guests) usually stray far away from wearing white at a wedding, but the UK follows a different tradition. According to old superstition, bridesmaids are supposed to dress similar to the bride to ward off evil spirits, hence the white dresses. And the royal families are no exception: the late Princess Diana had five little lookalikes at her wedding, and just this morning, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, dressed her sister, Pippa Middleton, in a white Alexander McQueen gown along with her accompanying adorable party. So tell us, would you do the same or prefer being the only one wearing white on your special day?
