Red gowns were in full force at the Emmys as seen on celebrities like Kate Winslet, Lea Michele, Nina Dobrev, and Kerry Washington. However, the similarities ended there as each one showed off their own sleek interpretation of the hot Hollywood hue. Kate went for chic and simple in an Elie Saab gown, Lea opted for a draped back design by Marchesa, Nina showed off full-on glamour in a curve-hugging gown by Donna Karan, and Kerry Washington shimmered in red sequins by Zuhair Murad. Emmys Red-Carpet Trend: Sparkly Gowns

At tonight's Emmys, more than a few celebs chose to up their star power with a shimmering red-carpet gown. It was all about gorgeous gowns that glowed from metallic sequins and beads. Think less disco ball and more delicate with metallic embroidery like Jennifer Carpenter's beautiful sparkly gown, Christina Hendricks's femme Johanna Johansson confection, or Taraji P. Henson's slinky, liquid gold and silver Blumarine gown. And we love the way they wear it — opting for minimal accoutrements that showcase the gowns and their own natural glow. When Amy Poehler gets dressed up, she does it for real, in a sparkly blue (anyone else seeing an Emmys pattern here?) Peter Som gown. Since the dress was plenty glitzy, she kept her makeup and hair minimal. Do you like the way she put it all together?Vote on all of our Emmys polls here!

Emmys: Heather Morris

Glee's Heather Morris showcased a love of texture on the Emmys red carpet.

Glee's Heather Morris showcased a love of texture on the Emmys red carpet. Her whimsical gown was made up of layers of soft, sweeping ruffles — even on her split cap sleeves — while makeup took a turn for the more mature. A Brigitte Bardot-esque look featured wing-tipped liner, soft lips, and a voluminous bouffant, and the beautiful blonde finished her look with just a single gold, jeweled drop earring. How do you rate Heather's style?

Emmys: Rashida Jones

If there was ever a time to bust out a ruby-red lipstick, it's at the Emmys.

If there was ever a time to bust out a ruby-red lipstick, it's at the Emmys. And here we have Rashida Jones pairing her jewel-toned version with a pretty, pink Alberta Ferretti design. To complement the twisted bandeau neckline, Rashida adds elegance with a low-slung, side chignon. Green-accented jewelry gives an extra pop of color to the feminine palette. Together it makes for an old-Hollywood-meets-new-Hollywood feel. Do you love it?
