Red gowns were in full force at the Emmys as seen on celebrities like Kate Winslet, Lea Michele, Nina Dobrev, and Kerry Washington. However, the similarities ended there as each one showed off their own sleek interpretation of the hot Hollywood hue. Kate went for chic and simple in an Elie Saab gown, Lea opted for a draped back design by Marchesa, Nina showed off full-on glamour in a curve-hugging gown by Donna Karan, and Kerry Washington shimmered in red sequins by Zuhair Murad. At tonight's Emmys, more than a few celebs chose to up their star power with a shimmering red-carpet gown. It was all about gorgeous gowns that glowed from metallic sequins and beads. Think less disco ball and more delicate with metallic embroidery like Jennifer Carpenter's beautiful sparkly gown, Christina Hendricks's femme Johanna Johansson confection, or Taraji P. Henson's slinky, liquid gold and silver Blumarine gown. And we love the way they wear it — opting for minimal accoutrements that showcase the gowns and their own natural glow.
