As award show mania continues, we're treated to even more gorgeous red-carpet sightings. This time, the Producers Guild Awards, held over the weekend at LA's Beverly Hilton, presented a bevy of glammed-up starlets in their Saturday bests. We're loving Angelina's floor-length black floral lace Michael Kors creation for its sweet and sexy duality, and we can't get enough of Viola Davis's stunning style. Her emerald green Hervé L. Leroux gown is no exception. Adding to the glitz, Sofia Vergara sparkled in Monique Lhuillier and Jessica Chastain wowed in a custom shimmery Balenciaga frock. We've got all of our favorite looks from the Producers Guild Awards right here, so just keep clicking.
Just in time for award season, Bill Gaytten debuted an ultra-feminine collection of ladylike frocks and gowns begging to be worn on the red carpet. With a nod to vintage Dior, Gaytten delivered cinched waists balancing fit and flair shapes and classic ladylike silhouettes with folded open collars, exposing a hint of decolletage ever so tastefully. The structure and glamour of the Old Dior house are there, but not without Gaytten's modern updates — we're treated to fresh sheer pleats, sleeves, and tops, while evening gowns are a study in delicate texture with organza and chiffon layers. We can think of little else but who might walk the Oscars red carpet in one of these gowns.
- Trends: Ladylike, sheer.
- Colors: White, black, gray, purple, and red.
- Key Look: The white sheer frock, nipped at the waist with black floral embroidery.
- Accessories: Full-length gloves, black patent belts, classic pumps in red, black, white, and nude.
- Who Would Wear It: Charlize Theron, red-carpet beauties, and Hollywood A-listers.
Sequins are considered nighttime or holiday garb, but when Ashley Tisdale recently donned a pair of slouchy gray sequin pants in Studio City, she showed us that they also dazzle in sunlight. The key to wearing sequins during the day, besides confidence, is to make sure that the rest of your outfit is super low-key. Ashley opted to dress down her sequins with a ripped t-shirt, a creme motorcycle jacket, and a ribbed beanie. To take this look from day to night, take off the beanie and throw on a black tuxedo-style blazer, and you'll keep the shine going through the wee hours.
The indie Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT, always attracts a fashionable crowd, and A-list actresses (and singers!) stylishly stepped out in Winter-chic attire. Whether they're facing a snowstorm à la Kate Bosworth in an Isabel Marant sweater, Joe's jeans, and Burberry boots, or bundling up on the red carpet like Taylor Swift, watch today's FabFlash to see how you too can look casually cute in the cold.
Retro throwbacks, tailored perfection, and soft feminine references — pre-Fall '12 is a beautiful blend of structured shapes and unexpected girlie details. Lanvin delivered deliberately unfinished embellishments like exposed dart seams and raw edges, while Givenchy revived its "greatest hits" prints (think tropics and rottweiler motifs), and Sarah Burton traveled back in time to the '60s English countryside to whip up a cool equestrian-inspired McQ collection. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. We're obsessed with Carven's nod to mod silhouettes, Derek Lam's focus on detachable mink collars, and Versace's Studio 54 vibe, too. It's a pre-season worth poring over, so get to it. Click through to see even more inspired looks and gorgeous accessories from Pre-Fall 2012.
Emma Roberts has been delivering a bevy of stylish ensembles recently, and her trip to the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT, this past weekend was no exception. From the red carpet, to the afterparties, to hitting the slopes, we can't get enough of this trendsetting starlet. See all of her fabulous outfits in today's FabFlash, and let us know which look is your favorite.
Actress Amber Heard always looks fashion forward, even while shopping around LA. The blond beauty paired ladylike pieces — creme button-down blouse, black midi skirt, and ankle-strap sandals — with a juxtaposing rugged anorak and Stella McCartney chain-strap bag. This look would be perfect for date night, if your guy appreciates off-kilter fashion, or brunch with your stylish pals. There are so many different ways to roughen up a feminine look like Amber did. The most important pieces to this ladylike-cool puzzle are the skirt and anorak, so be sure to add those to your must-buy list.
While the Versace Resort 2012 frock Diane Kruger wore to Paris Fashion Week is a standout, it's far better suited for the front row than it is for the sidewalk. Plus, it's not easy to pull off such a funky print in your day-to-day. But in small doses — like with the black and white abstract tee we chose — the black and white print trend is one everyone can pull off. Just tuck the front into a pair of skinny black jeans, throw on a white belt for added pizazz, and finish the look off with black patent pumps. Or opt for flats or boots if you're just grabbing a casual bite.
