Between Elle's Women of the Year awards to kick it off and Bergdorf's anniversary party at the Plaza to close it out, it's been one very glamorous week in the way of celebrity style. But beyond the red carpets, you've likely already seen another side of celebrity style — still chic, but ever-so-slightly dressed down. From Hilary Rhoda in delicate lace to Alexa Chung in a sweet Fall jumpsuit and the ever-polished Olivia Palermo in a tuxedo jacket and metallic brogues, the inspiration abounds in this week's top 10. 7 Celebrity Styles to Be Inspired By This Week and Why!
This week, our favorite celebrities donned everything from geometric prints to plaid blazers to varsity jackets to pops of red. And they inspired us to follow suit. We particularly loved Victoria Beckham's printed Prada skirt, Kim Kardashian's all-white Miami look, and Olivia Palermo's Fall-perfect plaid Tibi blazer. Find out who else made the cut for this week's best-dressed stars, find out why we chose them, then shop their looks for yourself.
We've Got Your Saturday Outfit Covered, Thanks to Liv Tyler
We're the first ones to say "kick back and relax" come weekend time, but that certainly doesn't mean we want our off-duty style to fall by the wayside. In fact, we're looking to Liv Tyler's polished yet laid-back ensemble for a fresh round of weekend-themed outfit inspiration. Not only is her daytime look a Fall-perfect combination of casual and cool, but it's also unbelievably simple. Seriously. All you really need to follow suit are your favorite pair of jeans, a classic peacoat, and old-school Chucks on tap. We say, invest in a little texture — be it stripes, chunky knits, or tweedy fabrics — where your shirt and sweater layers are concerned. And to finish, add a black croc-skin shoulder bag into the mix, providing the look with just the slightest hint of accessory flair. If you happen to be a fan of bolder pops of color, opt for a brighter-hued bag or a printed scarf instead. As for the rest? Stick to the basics, Liv-style, and you can't go wrong.

Leather Pants (and the Other Items) Most Likely to Give Women Buyer's Remorse
According to a new poll conducted by a drinks brand, Lambrini, leather pants are the clothing item women most regret buying. A whopping 46 percent of women asked said the slick bottoms were the item that gave them the biggest case of buyer's remorse — the effect we feel too often when scouting out the latest trends and realizing (once we've brought them home) how unflattering they actually are. Sure, they seem like a good idea, as do crop tops and thigh-high boots — aka the other items that topped the charts as the items women regretted buying the most, with 30 and 28 percent, respectively. But lesson learned: just because Jennifer Lopez or Rihanna can pull it off, it doesn't always mean we can. Now, we're putting it to you — are these the same items that you regret buying the most or is it maybe one of the other items from Lambrini's poll (read: fanny packs, crocs, or velour track suits)? Ali Larter's Perfect Weekend Look: Denim Top, Black Denim, and Sneakers
Ali Larter ran an errand in West Hollywood wearing the perfect weekend look: a denim button-down shirt, black skinny jeans with zippers at the ankles, and black Converse All Stars. You probably already have all three pieces in your closet, so put them together while grabbing coffee or grocery shopping this weekend. Then finish your casual style with yellow sunglasses and long silver chain necklaces just like Ali did. If you don't already have the perfect denim top, we recommend this one by Maison Scotch ($145).
