Taylor Swift's new album Red hit stores on Oct. 22, and she's been spotted about town wearing the ravishing shade! Whether she's punching up an all-black ensemble with a bold lip or slipping into a crimson-colored dress, we think this daring hue looks great on Taylor. Watch today's Fab Flash to see Taylor's recent red looks. On Allison McNamara: Shoshanna dress, Kendra Scott earrings, House of Lavande bracelet.
Kim Kardashian popped by the Christian Louboutin boutique in Miami wearing one of her favorite pieces: peplum. She paired her black leather peplum top with faded gray skinny jeans, which she cuffed at the bottom, then finished off with a sparkly rhinestone bib necklace and metallic pointy pumps. Of course she didn't leave home without her black crocodile Hermès tote, which added major luxe to her look. Kim's latest outfit is super simple to re-create. Just get a faux or real leather peplum top — a nonleather one will do, too — and wear it with your gray skinny jeans, then finish off with a statement necklace and equally dazzling metallic pumps. Shop similar pieces below to get started.
Fall and Winter most definitely mean one thing for our wardrobes: coat shopping. Last night, H&M celebrated its newest designer collaboration with Maison Martin Margiela. Celebrities including Kayne West, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Julianne Moore flocked to the party in downtown Manhattan. The collection was inspired by the archives and is filled with high-impact silhouettes and dramatic outerwear. Watch on to see and hear more about H&M's newest collaboration! On Allison McNamara: Shoshanna dress, Kendra Scott earrings, House of Lavande bracelet. Hair and makeup by Kasia Bohos. Additional reporting by Allie Merriam.
There are those celebrities that love over feminine fashions, while there are others that don't mind dabbling with a little bit of menswear once in a while. Case in point: Victoria Justice wore a black skinny tie with her animal-print jeans, singer Janelle Monae has made a white blouse and black tie her red-carpet signature, Emmy Rossum matched her silky teal tie with her shorts suit, and British model Jameela Jamil also got in on the trend via a classic white shirt and a black silky tie. Would you — or have you — wear a tie with any of your ensembles? Cast your vote below!
From head to toe, we're justifiably obsessed with the J.Crew girl Jenna Lyons crafts season after season. But preppy-cum-classic wares aside, next season's stylish appeal is really all in the details. Thus, we honed in on the brand's best accessories — the ones worth piling on, stacking up, and making a statement in. While you'll certainly get your fill of J.Crew's signature lineup of colorful round-toe pumps (in the prettiest cap-toe iterations, nonetheless) and slick Edie-type satchels, we noticed a distinct turn to a louder palette and exotic textures. So, what are the new pieces to covet? On our short list: lace-covered pumps in neon hues give the girlie girl a bold edge, muted floral prints took form on compact clutches, chunky multicolored bauble necklaces provide the perfect accent for a prim cardigan, and quirky embroidered loafers take the cake for comfiest-meets-coolest footwear. For the best in show, click through for a closer look at J.Crew's Spring '13 must-have accessories. Then, don't forget to tell us in the comments which piece you want to snag come Spring.
Velvet's rich finish lends itself perfectly to Fall and Winter, and this season, this sumptuous texture was spotted on the runways at Gucci, Chanel, and Rachel Zoe supplying ample styling fodder. We love the thought of adding the luxe fabric into our ensembles — be it a baroque bag, a jewel-toned blazer, or a beautiful pair of merlot heels. Watch on to see our favorite velvet picks of the season! On Allison McNamara: Myne top, Jenni Kayne skirt. Hair and makeup by Kasia Bohos.
The piece: Coach Transatlantic Travel Carry-On
The investment: $698
Why it's worth it: Don't let the fact that you'll find this perfect, will-only-get-better-with-wear leather weekender in Coach's men's section bother you; you can find some pretty amazing stuff there (try the boys' department at J.Crew, for example, or that cashmere pullover you borrowed from your boyfriend and aren't giving back). The fact is that this weekender isn't just gender neutral, it's a classic. It's the kind of luggage that looks like you inherited it from a grandparent with its timeless, unassuming shape and luxe finish. Since we weren't so lucky, it's also the kind of piece we wouldn't mind investing in on our own — a piece that will give us that sophisticated, world-traveler look, no matter where we're headed. Plus, years from now, we will be the grandparent that gifts our granddaughter (or grandson) with this perfect travel companion — one that we suspect will look just as gorgeous then as it does now.
