While we were all enjoying Thanksgiving leftovers and hitting up the big weekend sales, Taylor Swift spent her weekend jet-setting from Tokyo, Japan, to Sydney, Australia, to promote her new album, Red. As of late, Taylor has been going for a casual, vintage styling vibe, but this time around, she decided to switch it up with a sportier look, which consisted of red sneakers and stripes. She also slipped into this season's It color via one slim-cut pair of burgundy jeans, which she paired with a breezy white top by Bella Dahl. Watch today's Fab Flash to hear all the details on her outfits down under! On Allison McNamara: Elizabeth and James top, Gorjana earrings and necklace. Hair and makeup by Kasia Bohos.
If it's not one Middleton sister pulling out all the style stops, it's the other, and in this case, Pippa is laying down the foundation for one chic — and textured — work ensemble. We caught the brunette beauty heading to the office in an outfit that deserves a second look, namely because of that eye-catching teal tweed Sandro jacket. By adding a bold pop of color front and center, her belted black dress, although polished, got a pick-me-up that won't deter from 9-to-5 professionalism. Not to be outdone by one statement piece, though, Pippa incorporated two other accents that helped drive the look home. Her tan knee-high boots (flat soles are perfect for the workplace) and two-tone tote provided the perfect Winter complement. Plus, the bag has space enough to fit your laptop and wallet essentials. There's not much else to it: a modest LBD, a colorful jacket, black tights, knee-high boots, and a medium-size tote, and you've nailed the Pippa treatment.Clockwise from top left: Reiss Helen Loose Belted Tee Dress ($340), M Missoni Cropped Jacket ($827), Wolford Velvet Deluxe 66 Tights ($45), Dorothy Perkins Tan Suede Knee Boots ($151), Mango Two-Tone Tote ($100)
With every holiday season comes the obligatory hipster-cool "ugly sweater" party — and while you should definitely RSVP with a resounding yes, why not surprise your friends by putting a stylish spin on the typically tacky trend? Even so-called "ugly" sweaters can still look fantastic when paired with skinny jeans or coated denim and a great pair of sparkly heels. Another great way to style up your knit is with a leather skirt, tights, and your favorite ankle booties. You'll undoubtedly be the best-dressed at the bash — not to mention the only person smart enough to buy a sweater that you can actually wear again! We've rounded up some cute, cozy pieces that will ensure you pass the party dress code without completely sacrificing style. Click through to shop 13 of our favorite festive sweaters now.
Military influences were all over the runways this season, giving way to a much more structured vibe at Jason Wu, Victoria Beckham, and Marc by Marc Jacobs. However, this time around, designers took an overtly feminine approach to this style, pairing masculine military jackets with softer, luxe separates, like velvet skirts and streamlined trousers. In today's episode of Currently Trending, fashion reporter Allison McNamara shows you three easy ways to add military influence to your wardrobe right now. Watch to see how it's done!
If you're on the hunt for an ensemble that transitions from a casual day at work to dinner and drinks, then look no further than Miranda Kerr's latest NYC look. The model worked true-blue Nobody denim ($291) and a black, sheer-sleeved blouse with tasseled leopard Prada loafers and her trusty leather Givenchy bag ($2,405). Her gold glitter Miu Miu shades ($390) lent a touch of sparkle, while her mixed-metal jewels, slick topknot, and punchy pink lipstick were the icing on her chic street style.
Buying gifts for the minimalist in your life may seem a little backward, but listen up: even the most pared-down friend will appreciate a basic revamp. On that note, we handpicked nine gifts that are all sure to please. Think cozy cashmere scarves in a classic camel hue' a simple, yet modern timepiece; a two-in-one makeup essential; and our favorite, Stella McCartney's seven-day panties set. It doesn't get easier, or chicer, than that. Click on to shop our irresistibly cool holiday gift picks for the minimalist now.
Anne Hathaway arrived in Tokyo sporting a fabulous Fall travel ensemble: an olive tweed jacket over a coordinating olive tee. On bottom she wore faded skinny jeans by Citizens of Humanity ($228) and black ankle boots. For accessories, the actress showed off blue cat-eye sunglasses by Christian Dior and a red-and-pink tassel necklace. We love this monochromatic pairing for the airport or just weekendwear. You can even dress it up for the office via black trousers and pumps. Love Anne's latest styling as much as we do? Shop similar pieces below, or re-create the look by matching two pieces in the same color family.
Gwen Stefani looked picture perfect in a structured Thierry Mugler blazer ($1,749, originally $2,499) and plaid shorts while arriving to her parents' LA home for Thanksgiving. She balanced her printed bottoms with a black crewneck sweater, white Peter Pan-collared blouse, opaque tights, and black leather ankle boots. In true Gwen style, she accessorized with retro waves, a red lip, silver bangles, and a black patent Thierry Mugler tote. Give your denim a break, and style Gwen's exact blazer with plaid shorts and all-black staples for an impeccably polished Fall look.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West attended the taping of The X Factor in LA, Kanye in all black with white sneakers and Kim in this Balenciaga red leather pencil skirt ($1,399). Up top, she wore a sheer-sleeved black top and, on bottom, a pair of black suede pumps. For accessories, Kim chose a handful of chunky gold bracelets to add a touch of shine and toughness to her ensemble. Score Kim's exact skirt — or this less-expensive Forever 21 red leather skirt ($23) — to add a festive touch to your Fall and Winter wardrobes.
