The New Year fresh-start syndrome has kicked in, and that means we're in serious resolution mode. We're not making any wild promises here, which is exactly why we plan on sticking to these sartorial-minded resolutions. Our goal here? Reset, revamp, and renew within reason, specifically where our styling decisions and closets' contents are concerned. And depending on which Fab editor you ask, 2013 is the perfect excuse to start dressing up more often, wear statement-making jewels, opt for bolder bottoms in place of the regular jean/khakis routine, incorporate more white-hued pieces into the outfit rotation, master the wardrobe-staple basics, and look to edgier leather- and silk-infused silhouettes. Maybe not every resolution need be applied at once, but with a refreshed 365-day outlook, we've made our official 2013 style resolutions inside. It's time to read up on who's promising what, and how we plan on keeping our mini fashion overhauls on track now.

It's New Year's Eve — do you have anything to wear? The quickest way to look festive on NYE is to add a pop of red to your outfit, just like Julianne Hough did with her all-black ensemble. She started off with a sheer black blouse, which she tucked into a pair of black high-waisted shorts, then cinched her waist with a black leather cummerbund-style belt. The actress finished with studded ankle-strap pumps, sparkly diamond studs, and the kicker, a red envelope clutch, which totally transformed her look from monotone to marvelous. All thanks to a little pop of bright red! Mimic Julianne's ensemble when you ring in 2013 by shopping similar pieces in the widget below. If it's too chilly out, we recommend adding a pair of sheer black tights.
Winter is all about layering, and sometimes the most classic pairings are the best. Take Fab community member Sorelle in Style, for instance: her red plaid top pairs perfectly with her supercozy shearling-lined vest. Sleek black leggings tucked into brown ankle boots keep her outfit ready for whatever Winter weather brings, while a brown crossbody keeps her daily essentials handy. Not much else is needed to finish off her plaid-perfect look besides a black and gold cuff and sparkling necklace popping out from under her collar.
Congrats, Sorelle in Style!
Everyone else, submit your looks, and we just might feature you on FabSugar!
