The surprising thing about Kristen Stewart's Jason Wu look at the LA screening of On the Road wasn't that it was lacy, sheer, and nude-paneled (because we know she loves a great play on all three), but that she gave new styling life to an ultrafeminine, high-waisted short. We love the idea of opting for this masculine-meets-girlie piece over a festive miniskirt, especially when it comes time to get dressed for tomorrow night's holiday party. It's an easy (read: comfortable) outfit choice, and it provides considerable texture and dynamic in one fell swoop. But, unlike Kristen, you don't have to follow suit on the matching separates. In fact, implementing a more casual silky blouse with a great statement necklace could be just as impressive, if not more of a styling statement, than going the two-piece-set route. We've got to admit, though, her Barbara Bui heels are the perfect go-between for the girl who doesn't want to part with her flats but needs a footwear punch-up . . . someone kind of like Kristen. The only thing we're going to emphatically suggest here is this: switch it up with shorts (the party-ready kind seen here) for an unexpected fashion twist. Now, all you have to do is shop our favorite pairs below.

Does the special guy in your life fashion himself a master groomer? Then give him the extra edge with the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler. The 3-in-1 facial hair styling tool trims evenly, shaves closely, and edges accurately whether he favors a simple goatee, a thin chin strap, or a clean shave. Plus, it's watertight and totally safe to use in wet environments, so he can perfect his best look, even in the shower — and easily open and rinse the trimmer door under a stream of water when he's done.
Watch the video below to take a quick look at the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Styler (which comes with its own smart organizing case). It's shaping up to be the most glamorous time of year (and we're not just talking about our own holiday-party schedule). Thanks to a slew of parties and premieres, we were treated to looks from our favorite style setters and Hollywood glamazons, like Anne Hathaway, making the rounds for Les Misérables in jaw-dropping gowns and equally stunning cocktail dresses (like this Altuzarra number). Elsewhere, Kerry Washington donned a little snake-print Gucci shift, and Jessica Alba perfected elegant eveningwear in a black Ferragamo gown. Of course, we made exceptions — Jamie Chung may not exactly have been dressed up, but her look was still well worth a spot in this best-dressed crew (more on that inside). Click on to see who else took top spots in our top 10.
There are ways to punch up your outfit — and then there's the Liv Tyler way to do it. While promoting The Hobbit last night, the actress gave an all-black outfit a cheery lift with a fiery pair of Tabitha Simmons ankle-strap heels ($1,245). It's another testament to our styling theory that just a touch of the holiday hue goes a long way, especially when it's paired with an otherwise all-black look. It's the more modern approach to festive styling. Rather than commit to that over-the-top party dress, you get just the right dose of eye-popping red. It's also not at all hard to re-create, and it doesn't require the exact same outfit approach, either. All you need to steal Liv's statement-making style is your favorite LBD and tights, black shorts, and a tuxedo blazer, or any combination of dressed-up black separates. Of course, if you don't already have the same standout heels in your closet, now's the perfect time to shop a pair of our editors' picks. And if you want to amp it up a notch, embrace Liv's other on-point finishers, like a pair of decadent earrings and a bold red lip.
We're used to seeing Pippa Middleton in dresses and tweed, but during a recent London stroll, she showed off a sportier ensemble. Up top Pippa wore a black boatneck top with a black biker Sandro jacket that made quite the badass statement. Then on bottom she sported dark-blue skinny jeans with a pair of black high-top sneakers also by Sandro. For accessories, Pippa chose oversize sunglasses and a black and purple Loewe satchel. Re-create Pippa's sporty cool outfit by investing in a biker jacket, then matching it with trendy high-top sneakers.
With the holiday party circuit almost upon us, what better time than now to draw inspiration from celebrities who love to sparkle in red sequins? Gwen Stefani wore a daring red sequined crop top with a matching blazer and trousers while performing with No Doubt at Gibson Amphitheatre in LA, Fergie dazzled in a red Monique Lhuillier minidress with long sleeves and gunmetal Fergie Footwear pumps at an event in West Hollywood, and Taylor Swift performed at KIIS FM's Jingle Ball in LA shining in a red sequined top with black high-waist shorts and red oxfords. Take a cue from these festive ladies and add a little red sequin to your holiday wardrobe. Shop our favorite pieces below to get started.
