Tommy Hilfiger Runway Fall 2012

Tommy Hilfiger set the mood for his collection this evening at the Park Avenue Armory creating an Autumnal park paradise complete with wooden benches, pretty Fall trees, The Beatles playing in the backdrop, and even gravel to sink our booties into. As expected, the designer showcased his classic American style, but this time, interjected a completely modern spin to his mix via silk cable-knit printed dresses, luxe leather riding pants, and plenty of Glen plaid suits to go around. The classic pea coat was treated with a brilliant patent finish and trench coats received a smart colorblock detail on the sleeves. There were also plenty of quilted pieces, suede shirtdresses, A-line skirts, and tailored hunting jackets emoted a regal equestrian feel. Hilfiger exemplified the perfect mix of old and new — and we're loving every bit of it.

  • Trends: Plaid, patent leather, wrap skirts, military, quilting.
  • Colors: Olive green, brown, burgundy, black, purple, mustard yellow.
  • Key Piece: We loved Hilfiger's silk cable-knit printed dresses.
  • Accessories: Knee-high boots, quilted messenger bags, pony hair bags, equestrian riding hats.
  • Who Would Wear It: Girls who crave classic style with a twist like front row attendee Charlize Theron. We can also see Reese Witherspoon and Cate Blanchett in some of these pieces.

Zac Posen Fall 2012

Zac Posen drew influence from the Far East for Fall '12, showing off gorgeous dresses and gowns punctuated with Asian-inspired details.
Zac Posen Runway Fall 2012

Zac Posen drew influence from the Far East for Fall '12, showing off gorgeous dresses and gowns punctuated with Asian-inspired details. Specifically, it was about Chinoiserie and Japanese influences; fitted sheaths, gowns, and skirt suits were embellished with origami pleating, kimono sleeves, and obi sashes. Meanwhile, Chinese-inspired heavy silk floral patterns were used to create fitted sheath dresses and evening jackets. The main attraction of the evening was Zac's red carpet-worthy evening dresses. There were dramatic fitted mermaid gowns with seamed details and more pared down renditions, made in dove gray and light blush hues featuring intricate origami detailing on the back. The only question that remains is which red-carpet beauty will pick up one of Posen's creations for the Oscars?

  • Trends: Chinese and Japanese-inspired details.
  • Colors: Forest green, dove gray, red, black, light blush, pale yellow.
  • Key Piece: Satin ankle-strap sandals, jeweled clutches, rhinestone earrings, necklaces, and bracelets..
  • Who Would Wear It: Red-carpet beauties like Debra Messing, Anne Hathaway, and Eva Mendes.

Taylor Swift stepped outside of her red-carpet style boundaries tonight in a jaw-dropping Zuhair Murad lace confection. The collared, capped-sleeve floor-length gown hugged her lithe frame elegantly; needless to say, the gilded silhouette did not hit a single dull note. Add sexy back cutouts, a sleek top-knot bun, and a chic pair of gold earrings and you've got a totally glammed-up Taylor in her couture element. Do you think her Grammys look is a hit or a miss?

Rihanna Collaborates With Giorgio Armani on Her Dress For the Grammys

Rihanna went for a minimalist, ultrasexy look for the Grammys.

Rihanna went for a minimalist, ultrasexy look for the Grammys. Rather than pick something off the runways, Rihanna chose to collaborate with Giorgio Armani on her black dress. She shows off her sculpted back and she accentuates the deep V-neck in front with long gold chains. On her wrist, she dons all-gold jewelry. What do you think of Rihanna's custom-made dress?

Grammy Awards: Gwyneth Paltrow Stuns in Sexy Stella McCartney

This really shouldn't even be a poll, because we can't imagine who would look at Gwyneth Paltrow here and think her look isn't completely stunning.

This really shouldn't even be a poll, because we can't imagine who would look at Gwyneth Paltrow here and think her look isn't completely stunning. Her sporty halter dress from Stella McCartney hugs her curves perfectly, and she wisely chooses to keep everything simple — hair pulled pack in a sleek ponytail, clean makeup, super-minimal accessories including a ring by Delfina Delettrez — for a look that is ultra elegant and gorgeous. You know where we stand (we would vote her prom queen in a second), but let us know what you think of Gwyneth's clean, sexy look.

Grammy Awards: Nicki Minaj Wears a Red Versace Robe

At this point, provocative ensembles have become the singer's norm, but when Nicki Minaj showed up to tonight's awards in a cascading red cape and a costumed pope in tow, we have to admit she made our jaws drop.

At this point, provocative ensembles have become the singer's norm, but when Nicki Minaj showed up to tonight's awards in a cascading red cape and a costumed pope in tow, we have to admit she made our jaws drop. Minaj's fiery red Versace robe, complete with a beaded silhouette and matching red gloves, may just be the artist's most dramatic outfit yet. Equal parts Red Riding Hood and religious-chic (??!), her outfit has left us scratching our heads about what statement Minaj is making. Now we've got to know, what do you think?

Grammy Awards: Lady Gaga Dons a Sheer Gown and Metallic Bustier, Accessorizes With a Gold Scepter

She didn't walk the red carpet, but that didn't stop Lady Gaga from making a statement inside the show.

She didn't walk the red carpet, but that didn't stop Lady Gaga from making a statement inside the show. The singer's revealing custom Versace sheer gown and tough metallic bustier are on par for her typical over-the-top aesthetic, especially when you add in the show-quality accessories — including a sheer netted mask and a gold scepter in hand. One observant person on Twitter compared her look to Jafar from Aladdin. How do you rate Gaga's Grammy look?

Grammy Awards: Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys chose a super structured Alexandre Vauthier LBD, but it was her close attention to edgy add-ons that made this sleek ensemble pop.

Alicia Keys chose a super structured Alexandre Vauthier LBD, but it was her close attention to edgy add-ons that made this sleek ensemble pop. Her "Bis Un Bout" Christian Louboutin ankle-strap pumps featured PVC-infused panels, which evoked a futuristic feel, while her chunky geo-shaped gold choker injected a fierce attitude. To finish off the look, Alicia rocked a retro bouffant and minimal makeup. How do you think she did?
