Ashley Greene vamped up the red carpet last night in a retro black and white Oscar de la Renta dress. The Twilight star stepped out for the Louder Than Words event at the Avalon in Hollywood in a very old-Hollywood-esque get-up, choosing a midi-length dress paired with pointy black heels and a soft updo. Watch today's Fab Flash to see why we adore this look! On Allison: Topshop sweater, Lia Sophia necklace.
Serena van der Woodsen probably wouldn't be caught dead without her signature sky-high pumps, but Blake Lively ditched her glam persona in exchange for a downtown-cool ensemble while on the set of Gossip Girl in NYC. She kicked off her laid-back look with funky Christian Louboutin sneakers, then bundled up in a multitexture Dolce & Gabbana coat. Unfortunately, Blake's jacket isn't available online, but this look is easy to re-create at home by layering a purple coat over a gray ribbed cardigan, throwing on some distressed jeans, then finishing off with a pair of high-top kicks — here's a Coach pair we love.
British line Erdem is having a major moment among celebrities, and we're a bit obsessed with the line ourselves. Erdem's Spring '12 collection, specifically ultra-femme lace dresses and floral prints, have popped up on some of our chicest celebs. Kate Bosworth slipped into a sunny lace frock and Diane Kruger selected a sexier leg-baring lace gown, while Michelle Williams and Jessica Alba sported the Spring florals on their pieces of choice. Each makes a convincing case for embracing Erdem's modern take on ladylike silhouettes. We've scouted out a few of our favorite Erdem finds — shop the key pieces to channel the same trendsetting style. Of course, be sure to check back in with us during London Fashion Week to see how Erdem's outfitting Fall 2012.
Kate Bosworth's stylist, Cher Coulter, is not only her dear friend, but also her creative partner at JewelMint. And the duo are quite the dynamic team. "I tend to be more classical, minimalist, and Cher is braver," Kate told us at a recent JewelMint press breakfast. "The combination between the two gives a great blend."
But Cher's other job is stylist for Hollywood's It girls like Kate, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Elizabeth Olsen, whom she dressed for the Critics' Choice Awards and Independent Spirit Awards. Cher was also responsible for Nicole Richie's look at the Golden Globes and Kate Bosworth at Sundance. "I tend to dress people that are into fashion more than film," Cher told us.
So what are the first steps she takes when a client hires her? "First of all, go get images and just look at every picture of them," Cher revealed.

Jennifer Garner juggles two adorable girls and is pregnant again, but she still managed to look stylishly put-together while running errands in LA. The actress paired a white silk tee with designer denim and a fitted black blazer. But it's her leopard-print scarf that really elevated the look to super chic-dom. Black riding boots sealed in extra warmth and flair, while her gradient shades shielded her peepers from the sun. Whether or not you're expecting, take a cue from this mod mom and throw on a leopard scarf when your outfit is looking a little lifeless.
Remember those funky neon stripes that Miuccia Prada sent down her Spring '11 runway? Well, guess who got her hands on one of the orange-and-black canvas totes? Claire Danes, who was just spotted carrying the bold bag with an all-black ensemble in NYC. It added major punch to her otherwise monotone ensemble, but if Claire's version is too bright for you, there's a blue-and-white version ($745) that would be a totally cool companion for Spring. And because it's blue-and-white stripes, it's way more classic and wearable with all kinds of warm-weather ensembles. It would pop against florals, look amazing with light-wash denim, and add pizazz to any monochrome outfit.
