Celebs were majorly feeling the color black at last night's parties. Emma Roberts, Jessica Alba, Amy Smart, Penelope Cruz, Mena Suvari, and model Karlie Kloss all wore the chic hue at various parties in LA and NYC. Jessica opted to mix black and bright yellow, Emma worked black and white in a polished way, Amy edged up her black, Penelope went for sexy black, Mena did the color with sass, and Karlie looked fabulously fashion forward. As Madewell's Epic Road Trip Begins, Creative Director Shares Her Wardrobe Must Haves
Madewell launched a massive road trip yesterday, using a vintage Airstream as a kind of nomadic pop-up shop to bring its awesome (we can personally vouch for this) denim to cities and college campuses from Boston to Seattle. We stopped by the Airstream yesterday morning to share coffee, donuts, and Spring shopping tips with Kin Ying Lee, the ever hospitable and eternally cool creative director of Madewell who, by the way, was wearing a pair of floral-print corduroys from the forthcoming holiday collection. That means printed pants are not going away, yay! To get Kin's rundown on Spring basics, read below, and if you want to see this seriously cool refurbished Airstream (boasting dressing rooms, a denim bar, racks of clothes, and iPad docks so you can order whatever you want from the Madewell site), check out its special map for this road trip paved in denim.

Creative Director for Madewell Kin Ying Lee's Spring shopping essentials:
- A chambray shirt: "This is key. I wear one ALL the time. It's great because you can layer with it, and wear it open. I wear it as a jacket as well."
- Skinny ankle: "These look amazing with heels, sandals, short boots. It's a great denim jean for Spring because it's got a shorter inseam so it hits right at your ankle. You can show off those manicured feet. It's really sexy."
- The boy jean: "I think in Spring and Summer you want something that's not so tight. A boy jean gives you that little slouch, and that casual, more effortless look. This and the skinny ankle are my two go-to jeans."
- The crisp jacket: "More for layering, I like that it has a little structure, a little more tailored."
- A burst of color: "Even if it's just a great t-shirt or a silk shirt, it gives you a little splash of color."
- Shift dress: "It's straighter, that fit is great and friendly, because not everyone can wear a waisted dress."

Jordana Brewster Dons the Prettiest Little Persimmon Dress We've Seen
Red-carpet chic and garden-party ready, Dallas star Jordana Brewster paired a pretty bubble-print Carolina Herrera sheath with subtle gold accents and sleek blush-toned pumps at last night's Paley Center For Media and Warner Bros. "Television: Out of the Box" exhibition opening. The warm lilac and persimmon-hued dress is totally flirty and flattering, thanks to its cinched waist detail and a slight ruffle-front skirt slit. The key, when re-creating this ladylike ensemble, is to pay attention to the dress's silhouette in relation to its pattern design. A cool white foldover clutch, a small stack of gold bangles, and sweet nude heels added just the right amount of polish to Jordana's sweet Spring outfit. Purge, Then Splurge: 10 Ways to Treat Yourself With Your Tax Refund
Hopefully by now you've filed your yearly tax return and your bountiful refund is well on its way, so what are you going to do with it? It's important to pay off some bills, add to your 401k, and sock some of your refund away in savings — but that doesn't mean you can't treat yourself too. While we don't recommend going overboard, you may find yourself in the position to indulge in a new bag, update your Spring basics, or snap up that pair of shoes you've been lusting after — as long as it's within reason. We suggest sticking to classic shapes and silhouettes and thinking out of the box when it comes to colors or prints, like a pair of candy-colored jeans in your signature style, or face-flattering sunglasses with a little something extra. Here are some of our other tips for dealing with that burning hole in your pocket:
- If you get something, give something back. One of our go-to moves for buying something new is to give something away at the same time. If you're looking to pick up a new pair of jeans, make room for them by getting rid of that ratty pair you never wear. Looking to invest in a slew of new Spring tees? Throw away those stained, holey pieces that just aren't cutting it anymore. Most importantly, don't forget Goodwill. Purging your closet will make you feel a lot better about buying new things — plus, you can write off those donations next year!
- Don't take it too far. Nothing is worse than overspending on something just to need that money later. You don't want to run into a medical emergency or encounter a random bill and hate yourself for having bought those Chloé wedges.
- Sleep on it. An investment purchase is just that — an investment. You don't want to go into it with too little thought and end up making a bad decision. The best thing to do is have a think on it for a night or two; if you truly can't get it off your mind, it's probably meant to be (but keep your receipts, just in case).

Spring Shopping: It's Time For a Skirt so Full It Swishes
There's some romance to the full skirt — it's got a '50s femininity — and this Spring full skirts dominated the runways creating hourglass figures on the leanest of models. Louis Vuitton presented pastel-colored lace and organza skirts. Rochas channeled simple yet classic, '60s-inspired styles. Jil Sander featured a sheer, lavender and mint green gingham full skirt. Dolce & Gabbana spiced up the runway with bombshell silhouettes. The shape is actually quite versatile: wear it with a slouchy tee and strappy sandals, a crisp button-down and pumps, or a silk tank and booties, depending on your mood and the occasion. Prints Charming: Celebrities Show Off Their Pretty Patterned Scarves
Printed scarves are the ultimate accessory for Spring — they're lightweight, effortless, and add intrigue to even the most basic t-shirt and jeans look. One of our favorite looks for the season is a solid ensemble — say, a classic black tank and jeans —layered with a colorful, patterned scarf, although we can't deny the sheer chicness of mixing two printed pieces in your look either. For some style inspiration, just see how some of the celebrities pull off the look: Jessica Alba paired her pretty floral maxi dress with a denim vest and contrasting scarf for a fresh, Spring-perfect vibe, while Liv Tyler kept it cool and casual in a camel sweater, jeans, and a cream-colored scarf. So whether you decide to go for cute and colorful or dark and edgy (like skull-print scarf wearers Mena Suvari and Krysten Ritter), this is one accessorizing look that simply can't go wrong. Click through to see the celebs who've nailed the printed scarf look, then shop some Spring pieces for yourself.
Look of the Day: Festival Ready
Fab reader In Foodie Fashion Ana styled out a hippie-chic look that proves Coachella-worthy and Summer fest-ready. She wore a long black maxi dress and cinched it at the waist with a woven brown belt. To accent the ensemble, she chose a cool fringed necklace, a saffron-hued duster cardigan, a black floppy hat, and chilled-out flat sandals. While it may be hot during the day, we think the knit topper was a great choice for the chillier evening concerts.
Congrats In Foodie Fashion Ana!
Everyone else, submit your looks, and we might just feature you on FabSugar!
